Tri-State Arsenal (4-2) scored one in the 5th and two in the 6th to secure a 3-0 win over the East Cobb Astros (3-4) Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

RHP Nick Laster (2016, Atlanta, GA) tossed 2.0 innings for East Cobb, working in the 84-86 mph range. He also flashed a low-70s curve and a mid-70s changeup. For Tri-State, RHP Ted Sabato (2016, Rye Brook, NY) was in the 86-89 mph range in his 1.0 scoreless inning. He also flashed a low-70s curve.
Chicago downs Sandlot in 1-0 pitcher's duel

High velo arms were on display in the Chicago Scouts Association's (3-2) 1-0 win over Sandlot Scout Team (3-2) Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

RHP Shane Ritter (2015, Plainfield, IL) started and pitched 4.0 one-hit innings for Chicago, striking out seven. Ritter, an Iowa commit, set hitters up and changed speeds well, working in the 85-87 mph range and then maintained his arm speed when offering a mid-70s changeup. He also flashed a low-70s curve. Teammate OF/RHP Jimmy Perkins (2015, Cary, IL) fanned two in his inning of relief. A Western Illinois commit, Perkins' fastball sat at 83-87 mph with an upper-70s curve. Purdue commit C/RHP Nick Dalesandro (2015, Plainfield, IL) fired strikes at 83-87 mph in his inning of work. He also flashed an upper-70s cutter.

RHP Colton Thompson (2015, Broken Arrow, OK) fanned four in 3.0 innings for Sandlot Scout Team. He worked in the 81-85 mpg range with an upper-70s changeup. Teammate and Oklahoma State commit RHP Corey Zangari (2015, Oklahoma City, OK) tossed 2.0 scoreless innings. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder showed effortless arm action while firing strikes at 88-91 mph.
Chandler pounds-out 10 hits in 6-3 win

Chandler World (5-2) pounded-out 10 hits in their 6-3 consolation game win over the Royals Scout Team (1-4) Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Travis Blankenhorn (2015, Pottsville, PA) led the offense for Chandler, going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. The Kentucky commit displayed excellent bat speed and a confident approach. In the field, he showed soft hands and an accurate arm. Teammate Greg Pickett (2015, Aurora, CO) went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

RHP Carson Lester (2015, Murfeesboro, TN) started and pitched 3.0 innings for the Royals, striking out seven. The Middle Tennessee State commit displayed good command to both sides of the plate, working in the 84-89 mph range with riding life. He also showed good feel for a low-70s curve with good depth. Teammate and Jackson State commit RHP Vladimir Nunez (2015, Miami, FL) fanned three in 2.0 innings. He worked quickly, attacking hitters at 84-88 mph, peaking at 89. He also flashed a low-70s curve and mid-70s changeup. OF/RHP Tanner Mann-Fix (2015, Charlotte, NC) struck out a pair in 1.0 inning. The Appalachian State commit also worked fast and attacked hitters at 84-86 mph.

For the Royals, LHP Michael Bruhin (2015, Dardenne Prairie, MO) fanned three in 2.0 innings. An Illinois commit, Bruhin worked in the 82-87 mph range and showed good feel for a low-70s curve. Teammate and Nebraska commit LHP Ryan Connolly (2015, Castle Rock, CO) worked at 82-86 mph in his 1.0 relief inning.
Toronto rips 11 hits in 4-1 win

The Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team (1-4) pounded-out 11 hits in their 4-1 win over the Ontario Blue Jays (3-2) in Monday morning's consolation game at the Roger Dean Complex.

Maine commit Jeremy Pena (2015, Providence, RI) led all players with three hits, including two doubles, from Toronto's leadoff spot. Teammates Brody Cook (2015, Silver Spring, MD) and Andrew Yerzy (2016, Toronto, ON) added two hits each. 

Cal Poly commit RHP Robert Peace (2015, Wrightwood, CA) started and pitched 3.0 scoreless innings for Toronto, striking out six. Peace pitched downhill with a quick arm, firing strikes at 85-88 mph. He also flashed an upper-70s changeup and an upper-70s breaking pitch. Teammate RHP Marrick Crouse (2015, Dana Point, CA) fanned six in his 2.0 innings of relief. Working from a balanced delivery, Crouse's fastball sat in the 88-91 mph range, peaking at 92. He also flashed an upper-70s curve.

Keyed by a six-run 3rd inning, Baseball Northwest (3-2) beat Tri-State Arsenal (4-2) 7-6 in Monday morning's consolation game at the Roger Dean Complex. Jack Johnson (2015, Seattle, WA) and Braden Stutzman (2015, Twin Falls, ID) had two hits each for Baseball Northwest. Johnson went 2-for-4 with two triples, an RBI and two runs scored. Stutzman doubled and singled.

For Tr-State, Connor Redahan (2016, Greenwich, CT), Ryan Shinn (2015, Jobstown, NJ) and Sean Phelan (2015, Devon, PA) all had two hits.

RHP Jackson Wark (2015, St. Albert, AB) started and pitched 3.0 innings for Baseball Northwest, striking out four. The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder worked in the 80-86 mph range with an upper-70s curve.

RHP Stephen Santiago (2015, Aibonito, PR) flashed the game's top velocity in 1.0 scoreless inning for PRBAHS. The 6-foot-1, 198-pounder worked in the 84-87 mph range with a mid-70s curve.
Panzer's RBI double gives Baseball U 2-1 win

Baseball U Tucci Lumber (1-4) needed just three hits in their 2-1 consolation game win over the East Cobb Astros (3-4) Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Maryland commit Nathan Panzer (2016, Westport, CT) had the game's biggest hit, an RBI double in the 3rd inning which proved to be the game winner. 

LHP Eric Heatter (2017, Jamesburg, NJ) fanned four batters in 3.0 no-hit innings for Baseball U. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound southpaw worked in the 80-82 mph range from a high 3/4 arm angle. Heatter also flashed a low-70s changeup and upper-60s curve.
Canada downs Mizuno PR in consolation game

Canada PG Gold (1-5) downed Team Mizuno Puerto Rico (0-5) 4-2 in a consolation game matchup Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. The two teams combined for eight hits.

RHP Raymond Ramos (2015, Vega Alta, PR) struck out the side in his scoreless inning of relief for Team Mizuno. Ramos induced swings and misses with his 87-88 mph fastball that had riding life. He also flashed a low-70s breaking pitch with good depth. Teammate OF/RHP Reynaldo Rivera (2015, Toa Alta, PR) also worked a scoreless frame, firing strikes at 87-89 mph from an overtop arm angle. SS/RHP Hector Santiago (2015, San Juan, PR) worked in the 82-86 mph range in his inning of work.

Keyed by a three-run 1st inning, DBacks Langley Blaze (3-3) beat the Marlins Scout Team (2-3-1) 4-2 in their consolation game Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Nicholos Hamilton (2015, Lockport, NY) went 2-for-2 with a triple and a runs cored for Dbacks from the leadoff spot. For the Marlins, Elijah Connell (2015, New York, NY) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. 

St. John's commit RHP Jonathon Faraci (2015, Dix Hills, NY) flashed the top velocity for the Marlins, working in the 84-86 mph range in his inning of work. Faraci used a deceptive delivery and sound mechanics. He also flashed a low-70s curve and upper-70s changeup. 

RHP Josh Burgmann (2016, Nanaimo, BC) started and pitched 2.0 innings for the DBacks, striking out a pair. Working from a balanced delivery and high 3/4 arm angle, Burgmann fired strikes at 84-87 mph.
East Cobb collects 11 hits in 7-0 win

East Cobb Baseball (4-1) pounded-out 11 hits in their 7-0 consolation game win over 9ers Prime (2-2-1) Monday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

East Cobb received multi-hit efforts from four different players, including: Vandy commit Reggie Pruitt (2015, Kennesaw, GA), Jacob Freeland (2015, Hoschton, GA), Auburn commit Thomas Johns (2016, Pinson, AL) and Caleb Moore (2015, Buford, GA). Pruitt scored twice and stole two bases while covering a lot of ground in center field. Freeland tripled and drove in two runs, and Johns and Moore each doubled.

Tallahassee CC commit RHP Drew Reeves (2015, Hamilton, GA) tossed a scoreless inning for East Cobb, working in the 87-90 mph range with a low-70s breaking pitch. LSU commit LHP Nick Bush (2015, Leesburg, GA) fanned a pair in his scoreless inning. Bush's fastball sat in the 88-90 mph range. He also flashed a mid-70s curve. RHP Brooks Buckler (2015, Norcross, GA) struck out the side in his scoreless inning. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder offered a plus fastball in the 86-88 mph range with a good slider in the upper-70s.

RHP Anthony Morrone (2015, Millstone Township, NJ) struck out three in 2.0 innings for 9ers Prime. He worked in the 84-86 mph range while mixing in a slider in the upper-70s.

The Evoshield Canes defeated the Orlando Scorpions/Mets Scout Team 8-2 to win the 2014 WWBA World Championship in Jupiter.  South Carolina commit, Brad Debo (2016, Orange HS, NC), led the way for the Canes' offense going 2-4 with 1 triple, 1 double, 1 run scored and 4 RBI.  Xavier LeGrant (2015, Phillip O Berry Academy of Tec HS, NC), an NC State commit, added in a 2-3 performance with 1 triple, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Virginia commit, Ryan Karstetter (2015, IMG Academy HS, PA), also impressed going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 walk.  

Georgia commit, Dakota Chalmers (2015, North Forsyth HS, GA), started and earned the win for the Canes tossing 5 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 9 batters.  Chalmers featured an 89-92/94 mph fastball and mixed in a 75-78 mph curveball and a 78-81 mph slider. 

For the Scorpions, Cody Brickhouse (2015 Sarasota HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Nick Fortes (2015, Deland HS, FL), an Ole Miss commit, added in a 1-2 performance with 1 run scored.

The Orlando Scorpions/Mets Scout Team defeated GBG Marucci 2-0 thanks to a 10th inning RBI double from Florida State commit, Brendan Rodgers (2015, Lake Mary HS, FL).   Ole Miss commit, Nick Fortes (2015, Deland HS, FL), also showed well at the plate going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 walk.  Fellow Ole Miss commit, Ramon Alejo (2015, Boone HS, FL), scored the game winning run after leading off the 10th inning with a double.  

UNC commit, Tyler Baum (2016, West Orange HS, FL), earned the win in relief for the Scorpions going 3 strong innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Baum featured an 86-89/90 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-75 mph curveball.  Florida State commit, Tyler Holton (2015, Lincoln HS, FL), was the starter for the Scorpions tossing 7 strong innings allowing no runs and just 4 hits and 1 walk, while recording 9 strikeouts.  Holton featured a 78-84/86 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-77 mph slider and a 74-79 mph changeup.  

The GBG Marucci starter, Christopher Collins (2015, Notre Dame HS, CA), a San Diego State commit, tossed 6 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8 batters.  Collins featured an 85-88/89 mph fastball and mixed in a 73-80 mph slider and a 79-81 mph changeup.

The Evoshield Canes defeated the Palm Beach PAL 6-2 to advance to the Championship game.  South Carolina commit, Danny Blair (2015, IMG Academy HS, NC), helped power the Canes' offense going 1-3 with a 2-run home run and 1 walk.  Ryan Karstetter (2015, IMG Academy HS, PA), a Virginia commit, also impressed going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Liberty commit, DJ Artis (2015, Southeast Guilford HS, NC), also impressed going 2-3 with 1 run scored and UNC commit, Desmond Lindsay (2015, Out-of-Door Academy HS, FL), went 1-4 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

South Carolina commit, Logan Allen (2015, IMG Academy HS, NC), earned the win for the Canes tossing 5 shutout innings of work allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8 batters.  Allen featured an 85-90 mph fastball and mixed in a 68-71 mph curveball and a 77-78 mph slider.  

For Palm Beach, James Buckley (2015, Coral Springs Christian Academy HS, FL) went 1-3 with 1 triple and Florida commit, Hunter Bowling (2015, American Heritage HS, FL), went 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  
Scorpions walk-off to advance

The Orlando Scorpions/Mets Scout Team defeated Team Elite Prime 5-4 in extra innings thanks to a walk-off sac fly by the #1 player in the 2015 class, and Florida State commit, Brendan Rogers (2015, Lake Mary HS, FL).  Rogers showed raw power and excellent bat speed in his polished approach.  UCF commit, Matthew Mika (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL), also showed well with a quick bat and a short, compact swing going 1-4 with 1 RBI and Nick Plummer (2015, Brother Rice HS, MI), a Kentucky commit, scored 1 run, had 1 RBI and worked 2 walks. 

East Carolina commit, Sam Lanier (2015, Orangewood Christian HS, FL), earned the win in relief for the Scorpions tossing just 1/3 of an inning and striking out the only batter he faced.  Lainer had outstanding arm speed and featured an 88-91 mph fastball and a late breaking 76 mph slider.  Todd Peterson (2016, Lake Mary HS, FL), an LSU commit, was the Scorpions starter and he tossed 4 1/3 innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Peterson showed good command and sound mechanics to go with a smooth, online delivery.  He was aggressive with his heavy 86-89/90 mph fastball and mixed in a 74-76 mph curveball that flashed potential and a 76-80 mph changeup. 

For Team Elite Prime, their starter, and Georgia commit, Aaron Schunk (2016, The Lovett School, GA) ,went 5 strong innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 3 walks, while striking out 6 batters.  Schunk featured an 85-88/90 mph fastball with cut action as well as a late breaking 77-81 mph slider, a 75-79 mph curveball that flashed potential and a 78-82 mph good, straight changeup. 

Offensively for Team Elite Prime, Cade Sorrells (2015, George Walton Academy HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. 

Pitching leads GBG Marucci to Semis

GBG Marucci defeated the Marucci Elite 2-0 to advance past the Quarterfinals and into the Semifinals.  Kevin Gowdy (2016, Santa Barbra HS, CA), a UCLA commit, started and earned the win for GBG going 5 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Gowdy featured an 87-90 mph heavy fastball that had good life and a plus 76-78 mph curveball that showed late break.  Arizona commit, Austin Rubick (2015, Buena HS, CA), came in to close the game out tossing 2 shutout innings allowing no hits or walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Rubick showed an effortless arm action and a smooth delivery as he threw an explosive 90-92/93 mph plus fastball. 

Ethan Lopez (2015, La Mirada HS, CA) led the way for the GBG offense going 1-3 with 1 RBI.  Matt Lautz (2015, Agoura HS, CA), a UC Santa Barbra commit, also impressed going 1-3 with 1 walk. 

For the Marucci Elite, Tyler Watson (2015, Perry HS, AZ), a Loyola Marymount commit, took the tough-luck-loss pitching 5 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 2 walks, while recording 7 strikeouts.  Watson showed dominant stuff on the mound as he pitched downhill and showed a smooth, online delivery and featured an explosive 85-89/90 mph plus fastball.  He also threw a good, striaght 76-78 mph changeup and a plus 70-75 mph curveball. 

 
Canes advance past Yankees

The Evoshield Canes defeated the Texas Scout Team Yankees 3-0 to advance to the Semifinals.  Virginia Tech commit, Nick Enright (2015, Steward HS, VA), tossed 7 dominating innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 14 batters.  Enright featured an 87-90/92 mph fastball and mixed in a 72-76 mph late breaking curveball. 

South Carolina commit, Brad Debo (2016, Orange HS. NC), led the way for the Canes' offense going 1-3 with 2 RBI.  DJ Artis (2015, Southeast Guilford HS, NC), a Liberty commit, also impressed going 2-3 with 1 run scored and Wake Forrest commit, Logan Harvey (2015, Freeman HS, VA), went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 walk. 

For the Yankees, Baylor Rowlett (2015, College Station HS, TX), an Oklahoma State commit, and Kansas commit, Rudy Karre (2015, Liberty HS, AZ), each had 1 base hit.

The Palm Beach PAL defeated the Cardinals Scout Team/FTB Chandler 4-0 to advance to the Semifinals.  Mitchell Senger (2016, Boca Raton Community HS, FL) started and earned the win for Palm Beach going 5 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5.  Senger featured a 78-82/84 mph fastball and mixed in a 63-70 mph curveball and a 72-79 mph changeup. 

Pemron Burrows (2015, Coral Springs Christian Academy HS, FL) led the way for the Palm Beach offense going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Edmond Americann (2016, Trinity Christian Academy HS, FL) and Florida commit, Hunter Bowling (2015, American Heritage HS, FL), each added in a 1-3 day at the plate with 1 RBI.

The Orlando Scorpions/Mets Scout Team defeated the Reds Midwest Scout Team 3-2 to advance into the Quarterfinals.  South Carolina commit, Carlos A Cortes (2016, Oviedo HS, FL), helped power the Scorpions' offense going 1-2 with a solo home run and 1 walk.  Kentucky commit, Nick Plummer (2015, Brother Rice HS, MI), added in a 2-2 day at the plate and Kep Brown (2015, Wando HS, SC), a Miami commit, went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

Florida State commit, Cole Sands (2015, North Florida Christian HS, FL), earned the win in relief for the Scorpions by tossing 2 2/3 shutout innings on the mound allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Sands featured a 91-93 mph fastball and mixed in an 82-83 mph slider and a 78-81 mph changeup. 

For the Reds Scout Team, Illinois State commit, Tyler Paulsen (2015, Minooka Community HS, IL), went 2-2 with 1 RBI and Connor Smith (2015, H.H. Dow HS, MI), a Western Michigan commit, went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 2 stolen bases.

The Marucci Elite defeated Team Rawlings 11-2 to advance into the Quarterfinals.  LSU commit, O'Neal Lochridge (2015, St Thomas More HS, LA), helped power the Marucci offense going 2-3 with a grand slam.  Austin Shenton (2016, Bellingham HS, WA), a Washington commit, added in a 2-3 day with 1 home run, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  LSU commit, Brody Wofford (2015, Model HS, GA), also impressed going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI, while fellow LSU commit, Antoine Duplantis (2015, Lafayette HS, LA), went 1-2 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.

North Florida commit, Austin Drury (2015, Wiregrass Ranch HS, FL), started and earned the win for the Marucci Elite going 6 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Drury showed a solid arm and action and a quick arm as he attacked hitters with an aggressive 82-86/87 mph fastball, 71-74 mph late breaking slider and a 75-79 mph changeup that flashed potential. 

For Team Rawlings, Georgia Tech commit, Tyler Stephenson (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA), went 1-3 with 1 RBI.

The Texas Scout Team Yankees defeated the Elite Squad Prime 5-2 thanks to a 3-run 7th inning that helped break the tie.  South Carolina commit, Dexter "DJ" Neal (2015, Stephenson HS, GA), led the way for the Yankees' offense showing a quick bat and power potential going 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Bakari Gayle (2015, Martin Luther King Jr HS, GA), a Samford commit, added in a 2-3 day at the plate with 1 run scored and Tennessee commit, Ke'Bryan Hayes (2015, Concordia Lutheran HS, TX), used a patient approach to go 1-3 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk. 

Florida commit, MacGregor Hines (2015, College Station HS, TX), earned the win for the Yankees tossing 2 innings in relief allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit and struck out 2 batters using an 87-90 mph fastball.  Andy Pagnozzi (2015, Fayetteville East HS, AR), an Ole Miss commit, started the game for the Yankees, but did not factor in the decision, went 5 strong innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3.  Pagnozzi showed a quick arm and featured an 84-87/88 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-75 mph curveball. 

For the Elite Squad offense, David Villar (2015, American Heritage HS, FL), a South Florida commit, went 1-2 with 1 RBI.

NC State commit, Christian Demby (2015, St Thomas Aquinas HS, FL), started the game for the Elite Squad tossing 4 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 7 batters.  Demby showed a balanced, online delivery and excellent arm speed on the mound as he featured an 87-91/92 mph fastball and mixed in a 74-79 mph curveball.

The Cardinals Scout Team/FTB Chandler defeated the On Deck O's 9-0 to advance to the Quarterfinals.  South Florida commit, Christopher Chatfield (2015, Spoto HS, FL), led the way for the Cardinals/FTB going 2-2 with 2 doubles, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Miami commit, Herbert Iser (2016, Miami Killian Senior HS, FL), also impressed showing good plate coverage and a rotational swing going 2-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Florida State commit, Tyrone Perry (2015, Avon Park HS, FL), added in a 1-2 day using an aggressive approach and good bat speed with 1 double and 1 run scored.  UCF commit, Keshawn Lynch (2015, Haines City Senior HS, FL), contributed a 1-1 performance with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk. 

Juan Hillman (2015, Olympia HS, FL), a UCF commit, started and earned the win for the Cardinals/FTB going 4 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Hillman showed an effortless arm action and sound mechanics on the mound featuring an 84-89/90 mph fastball that showed sinking action, a 67-72 mph curveball that flashed potential and a 74-77 mph changeup. 
Stallings leads Chandler World to W

Chandler World defeated the Upstate Mavericks 7-3 in their consolation game.  Purdue commit, Brandt Stallings (2015, Kings Ridge Christian HS, GA), led the way for the Chandler World offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Oklahoma State commit, Keegan Meyn (2015, Yukon HS, OK), added in a 1-3 day with 1 triple and 1 RBI, while Loyola Marymount commit, Devin Davis (2015, Valencia HS, CA), went 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Kentucky commit, Travis Blankenhorn (2015, Pottsville Area HS, PA), and Ryan Sloniger (2015, Punxsutawney Area HS, PA), a Penn State commit, each impressed going 1-2 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored and 1 walk. 

Eli Nabholz (2015, Pottsville Area HS, PA), another Penn State commit, started and earned the win for Chandler World going 3 strong innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 2 batters.  Nabholz featured an 83-87/88 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-73 mph curveball. 

For the Mavericks, Christopher Proctor (2015, Burns HS, NC), a Duke commit, went 3-4 with 1 run scored and Georgia State commit, Nicholas Gatewood (2015, Peachtree Ridge HS, GA), went 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. 
Marlins Scout Team defeates PG Red

The Marlins Scout Team defeated the Midwest PG Red 6-5 in their consolation game.  Leadoff man, and Purdue commit, Duncan McKinnon (2015, Redondo Union HS, CA), helped spark the Marlins Scout Team offense going 1-1 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Louisiana-Lafayette commit, Ryne Ray (2015, Evangel Christian Academy HS, LA), added in a 1-1 day with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Jorge Guitierez (2016, Kempner HS, TX) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  

Joshua Moreno earned the win tossing 2/3 innings of relief allowing 1 walk.  Moreno featured an 84-87 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-71 mph curveball. 

For the PG Red, Grant Judkins (2016, Pella HS, IA) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI, while South Carolina commit, Joey Polak (2016, Quincy Notre Dame HS, IL), went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 1 walk. 
Massey leads Cangelosi to win

Cangelosi Baseball defeated PRBAHS 7-3 to improve their record to 3-1 in the tournament.  Illinois commit, Michael Massey (2016, Brother Rice HS, IL), led the way for the Cangelosi offense using a patient approach going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Kevin Johnson (2015, Oak Forest HS, IL) added in a 1-2 day at the plate showing a short, compact swing and good bat speed going with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 walk. 

Ryan Allain (2015, John Hersey HS, IL) started and earned the win for Cangelosi going 1 2/3 shutout innings allowing just 3 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Allain used a smooth, online delivery and hid the ball well as he was aggressive with his 84-88/89 mph fastball. 

For PRBAHS, Noberto Navarro (2015, Puerto Rico Baseball Academy HS, PR) went 2-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk. 
PG Kelly Green and All Star Baseball tie

NJ PG Kelly Green tied the All Star Baseball Academy 1-1. 

Nick Serra (2015, Manalapan HS, NJ) shined on the mound for PG Kelly Green going 2 perfect innings and striking out 4 batters.  Serra featured a 74-80/81 mph fastball and mixed in a 65-67 mph curveball.

For the PG Kelly Green offense, Michael Chiusano (2016, Middletown South HS, NJ) went 1-2 with 1 run scored and John Diana (2015, Manalapan HS, NJ) went 1-2 with 1 walk. 

Zack Zoller (2015, Spring-Ford HS, PA) led the way for the All Star Baseball Academy offense going 2-2 with 1 RBI. 

Starting the game for All Star Baseball was Arizona State commit, Connor Higgins (2015, Parkland HS, PA), who went 4 innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Higgins featured 84-87/88 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-73 mph curveball.

The DBacks Langley Blaze defeated PG Team Northeast 4-3 to even their record at 2-2 in the tournament.  Conner Chorpita (2015, Akron Comm East HS, BC) led the way for the Blaze offense going 2-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Tanner Rempel (2015, Evit-Mountain Pointe HS, BC) added in a 1-1 day with 1 RBI and Nicholos Hamilton (2015, Lockport HS, NY) went 1-3 with 1 run scored.

Brendan Coulter (2016, Akron Comm East HS, BC) earned the win out of the bullpen going 1 inning and striking out 2 batters. Coulter featured a 74-80 mph fastball and mixed in a 66 mph curveball and a 71 mph changeup. 

For PG Team Northeast, Timothy Seagreaves (2016, Washington Twp HS, NJ) went 2-3 with 1 RBI.

Nelson Baseball/Team GA defeated the Dallas Mustangs 5-3 to even their record at 2-2 in the tournament.  Northwestern commit, Jack Dunn (2015, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA), led the way for the Nelson offense going 2-3 with 1 run scored.  Cole McNamee (2017, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. 

Turner Scruggs (2016, Lambert HS, GA) started and earned the win for Nelson going 3 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Scruggs featured an 80-85/87 mph fastball and effectively mixed in a 72-75 mph curveball and a 73-77 mph slider.

The Northeast PG Vegas Gold defeated the Tidewater Orioles 10-1 to even their record at 2-2 in the tournament.  John Moschella (2015, Christian Brothers Academy HS, FL) led the way for the PG Vegas Gold offense going 2-4 with 1 home run, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Kenneth Moreno-Costa (2016, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL) impressed out of the leadoff spot going 3-4 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base.  St John's commit, Michael Antico (2016, Colts Neck HS, NJ), added in a 1-3 performance with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base while Robin Adames (2015, James Monroe HS, NY) went 2-4 with 1 double and 2 runs scored.

Greg Westhelle (2015, N Valley Reg H Old Tappan HS, NJ) started and earned the win for PG Vegas Gold going 2 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and no walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Westhelle featured an 81-84/85 mph fastball and mixed in a 67-72 mph curveball.

Team Elite Prime defeated the Dallas Tigers 3-2 to advance past the 2nd round of the playoffs.  Georgia commit, Michael Curry (2015, Gainsville HS, GA), led the way for the Team Elite Prime offense going 1-2 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Nick Wilhite (2016, Buford HS, GA), a Georgia Tech commit, also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 walk. 

Fellow Georgia commit, Justin Glover (2016, Buford HS, GA), earned the win for Team Elite Prime tossing 3 perfect innings of relief and striking out 4 batters.  Glover featured an 85-88 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-73 mph curveball.

The Evoshield Canes defeated the Richmond Braves 12-0 to advance past the 2nd round of the playoffs.  Logan (LT) "Athony" Tolbert (2015, IMG Academy HS, SC), a South Carolina commit, led the way for the Canes showed power potential going 2-3 with 1 double, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  UNC commit, Desmond Lindsay (2015, Out-of-Door Academy HS, FL), also impressed using a short, compact swing and a fluid stroke as he went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Wake Forrest commit, Jake Mueller (2015, Richland Northeast HS, SC), added in a 1-3 performance with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Virginia commit, Ryan Karstetter (2015, IMG Academy HS, PA), contributed a 1-3 day with 2 RBI and DJ Artis (2015, Southeast Guilford HS, NC), a Liberty commit, went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. 

Texas A&M commit, Beau Burrows (2015, Weatherford HS, TX), started and earned the win for the Canes going 4 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 6 batters.  Burrows featured a 91-94/95 mph fastball and mixed in a 77-80 mph curveball and an 85 mph changeup. 

For the Braves, West Virginia commit, Tate Brock (2015, Hurricane HS, WV) went 1-1. 
Mid-Atlantic & Chet Lemon's play to 3-3 tie

Mid-Atlantic PG Orange (1-1-2) pounded-out 10 hits in their 3-3 tie with Chet Lemon's Juice (1-2-1) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Niko Hulsizer (2015, Shillington, PA), Joe Zirolli (2015, Kennett Square, PA) and Brady Lloyd (2015, Mifflinburg, PA) recorded two hits each for Mid-Atlantic. In addition to going 2-for-3, Hulsizer tripled and drove in three runs.

RHP Wyatt Tyson (2016, Red Lion, PA) started and pitched 3.0 innings for Mid-Atlantic. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder worked in the 85-89 mph range, peaking at 90. Teammate RHP Brian Morrell (2017, Wading River, NY) fanned three in 2.0 no-hit innings, firing strikes at 83-87 mph with a low-70s breaking pitch.

For Chet Lemon's Juice, LHP Andrew Baker (2016, Tavares, FL) started and struck out three in 3.0 innings. Baker, a Florida commit, fired strikes with cutting action at 86-88 mph, peaking at 90. He also flashed a good slider in the upper-70s. Teammate RHP Kirby McMullen (2016, Ocala, FL) fanned three in 1.2 innings, using a deceptive delivery to fire strikes at 83-87. RHP Hunter McMullen (2017, Ocala, FL) struck out both batters he faced in a brief relief appearance, displaying an online delivery while firing strikes with his plus fastball at 84-87 mph. 
Palm Beach PAL advances

The Palm Beach PAL defeated SWFL Baseball 3-1 to advance past the 2nd round of the playoffs.  Zach Zientarski (The Benjamin School, FL) led the way for the Palm Beach offense going 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Chris Canavan (2015, American Heritage HS, FL) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 walk. 

Ricky Miranda (2015, Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, FL) earned the win for Palm Beach tossing 3 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Miranda showed good command and a smooth, online delivery while throwing an 84-87/88 mph good fastball and mixed in a 71-73 mph curveball that showed good depth. 

For Palm Beach, Donovan Petrey (2015, Port Charlotte HS, FL), a Florida State commit, stayed inside the ball well and showed raw power going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored. 
Team Elite throws no-hitter in 3-0 win

RHP Zach Linginfelter (2016, Sevierville, TN) and LHP Steven Bower (2015, Lawrenceville, GA) combined on a no-hitter in Team Elite Prime's (3-1) 3-0 win over the Kentucky Baseball Club (1-3) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Linginfelter struck out 10 in his 6.0 no-hit innings. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Tennessee commit displayed a smooth delivery and quick arm, firing strikes at 88-91 mph, peaking at 93. He also flashed an upper-70s curve. Bower, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound southpaw, fanned a pair in his inning. He worked in the 83-84 mph range with a low-70s bender.

For Kentucky, OF/LHP Luke Brown (2016, Murray, KY) started and pitched 3.0 innings. His fastball sat in the 82-85 mph range from a 3/4 arm angle. Brown also flashed an upper-60s curve and upper-70s changeup.
Sprengel shines as GBG Marucci advances

GBG Marucci defeated the East Cobb Astros 4-0 to advance past the 2nd round of the playoffs.  San Diego commit, Nick Sprengel (2015, El Dorado HS, CA), started and earned the win for GBG going 5 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits and no walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Sprengel showed a quick arm and a smooth, balanced delivery on the mound and featured a plus 87-90/92 mph fastball and mixed in a plus 76-79 mph slider and a good 79-81 mph changeup. 

Spencer Steer (2016, Millikan HS, CA), an Oregon commit, led the way for the GBG offense showing raw power and using a sound hitting approach as he went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Cal State Fullerton commit, Brendon Davis (2015, Lakewood HS, CA), also impressed showing a live bat going 1-3 with 1 RBI.

For the Astros, Will Benson (2016, The Westminster Schools, GA) showed power potential and impact speed going 1-2 with 1 stolen base. 
 
PG White downs Warhawks, moves to 3-1

Perfect Game White (3-1) held onto an early lead in their 4-3 win over the Ohio Warhawks (3-1) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Christian Aybar (2015, Cranston, RI) and Steven Valentine (2015, Tierra Verde, FL) each had two RBI for PG White. For the Warhawks, Cadyn Grenier (2015, Henderson, NV) and Nate Fichtner (2015, Pittsburgh, PA) had two hits each.

RHP Jack Rude (2015, Collierville, TN) started and struck out two in 1.0 innings for Ohio, working in the 84-88 mph range with a low-70s curve. Teammate RHP Wade Martin (2015, Portsmouth, OH) fanned three in 3.0 scoreless innings, firing strikes at 83-87 mph.

The Elite Squad Prime defeated the South Charlotte Panthers 10-0 to improve to 3-1 in the tournament.  South Florida commit, Robert Montes (2015, Coral Gables Senior HS, FL), led the way for the Elite Squad going 2-3 with 2 double and 1 run scored.  Daniel Reyes (2015, Mater Academy Charter HS, FL), a Florida commit, also impressed going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  NC State commit, Christian Demby (2015, St Thomas Aquinas HS, FL), and Mike Spooner (2015, Boca Raton Community HS, FL) each went 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.   

Alex Valverde (2015, Florida Christian HS, FL), a Miami commit, started and earned the win for the Elite Squad going 4 shutout innings allowing 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 6 batters.  Valverde featured an 88-92 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-74 mph curveball and a 78-81 mph changeup.

For the Panthers, UNC commit, Josh Hiatt (2015, Providence HS, NC), went 1-2. 
Dirtbags roll to 10-1 win

The Dirtbags (1-3) scored in every inning in which they hit in their 10-1 win over Team Mizuno Puerto Rico (0-4) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Alex Griffith (2015, Bristol, VA) led the offensive charge for the Dirtbags, going 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBI. Griffith displayed good bat speed and made very hard contact. Teammates Jacob Washer (2015, King, NC) and Eric Jenkins (2015, Chadbourn, NC) recorded two hits and two runs scored each. Washer showed good bat speed and power potential, while Jenkins drove the ball with regular contact and showed good speed. Turner Brown (2015, Whiteville, NC) went 1-for-1 with a walk and three RBI.

RHP J.T. Rogoszewski (2015, Scott Depot, WV) started and pitched 3.0 scoreless innings for the Dirtbags, striking out four. He worked in the 85-89 mph range with a good curve in the upper-70s and a low-80s changeup. Teammate RHP Matt Bridges (2015, Shelby, NC) sat in the 84-87 mph range in his inning of relief. Bridges also showed a low-70s curve.
SVG Arsenal tops Clippers

SVG Arsenal defeated the PG Dark Green Clippers 13-5 to improve to 2-1-1 in the tournament.  Jake Suddleson (2016, Harvard-Westlake HS, CA) led the way for the SVG offense posting a perfect day at the pate as he went 4-4 with a home run, 1 double, 3 runs scored, 3 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Dametri Evans (2015, Talhquitz HS, CA), an Iowa commit, also impressed going 3-4 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Bryce Pongs (2016, Cornoa HS, CA) added in a 1-2 performance with 1 double, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Vicente Ryan Mendoza (2016, Birmingham HS, CA) contributed a 2-3 day at the plate with 2 runs scored and 1 walk.

Gebbie earned the win for SVG going 2 1/3 innings on the mound and recording 1 strikeout.  Gebbie featured a 78-82 mph fastball and a 69-73 mph curveball.

The Texas Scout Team Yankees defeated the Dulin Dodgers/Rockies Scout TEam 7-4 to improve to 3-0-1 in the tournament.  Texas State commit, Jonathan Ortega (2015, Victoria East HS, TX), led the way for the Yankees' offense going 2-3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Baylor Rowlett (2015, College Station HS, TX), an Oklahoma State commit, impressed at the plate going 1-2 with a solo home run and 1 walk. 

Connor Cannon (2016, Vista Mirroeta HS, CA) started and earned the win for the Yankees going 7 innings allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and 6 walks, while striking out 11 batters.  Cannon featured an 83-88/91 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-76 mph curveball and a 74-78 mph slider.

Patriots collect 11 hits in 8-3 win

The Dallas Patriots (1-3) pounded-out 11 hits in their 8-3 win over Canada PG Gold (0-5) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Cody Sturgeon (2016, Garland, TX) went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI for the Patriots. He displayed good bat speed and power to all fields. Teammates Gaby Martinez (2015, Watauga, TX) and Anthony Lepre (2015, Agua Dulce, CA) each went 2-for-4 with two runs. Martinez showed a fluid stroke and good plate coverage with a live bat. Lepre displayed a sound hitting approach and power potential. In the field, he showed an accurate arm.

Antonio Lima (2015, Grapevine, TX) went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The Marlins Scout Team defeated the New York PG Maroon 5-4 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Hofstra commit, Vito Friscia (2015, Valley Stream Central HS, NY), led the way for the Marlins Scout Team going 1-2 with 2 RBI.  Nico Hoerner (2015, Head Royce HS, CA), a Stanford commit, also impressed going 1-2 with 1 run scored. 

Andrew Misiaszek (2015, South Side HS, NY), a Northeastern commit, earned the win for the Marlins Scout Team going 3 strong innings allowing only 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 2 batters.  Misiaszek featured an 80-84/86 mph fastball while mixing in a 69-74 mph curveball and a 77 mph changeup.

Virginia commit Ryan Karstetter (2015, Port Matilda, PA) went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for the Evoshield Canes (4-0) in their 7-1 win over the Homeplate Chilidogs (1-2-1) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

South Carolina commit Danny Blair (2015, Bel Air, MD) showed a good eye and patient approach from the leadoff spot, walking three times and scoring twice for Evoshield. Teammate Jake Mueller (2015, Columbia, SC) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

RHP Nolan Watson (2015, Indianapolis, IN) started and pitched 3.0 scoreless innings for Evoshield, striking out four. The East Cobb Astros (3-1) scored four runs in the top of the 7th to complete their 5-3 comeback win over the Rays Scout Team (2-2) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Joseph Odachowski (2017, Alpharetta, GA) recorded game-high three hits for the Astros. Teammate Davis Schwartz (2016, Atlanta, GA) went 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBI.

SS/RHP Xzavion Curry (2016, Atlanta, GA) started and pitched 5.2 innings for the Astros, striking out nine. He worked in the 84-87 mph range with a mid-70s curve. Teammate SS/RHP Brady Netherton (2017, Decatur, AL) recorded the final four outs, firing strikes at 85-87 mph.

The South Florida Bandits defeated Baseball Northwest 4-3 to improve to 3-1 in the tournament.  Braxton Stowe (2016, Trinity Christian Academy HS, FL) led the way for the Bandits' offense showing good bat speed and power potential as he went 1-3 with 2 RBI.  Bobby Moskow (2015, Ridge HS, NJ) added in a 1-1 day showing a quick bat and rotational swing with 1 stolen base and  2 walks. 

Angelo Serrano earned the win for the Bandits tossing 2 1/3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  Serrano threw easy and showed a smooth, balanced delivery on the mound with his good 82-85/86 mph fastball and mixed in a 65-69 mph plus curveball.

For the Baseball Northwest offense, Cole Warken (2015, Martin Collegiate HS, SK) showed a quick bat and gap power going 2-3 with 2 RBI and Rex Stephan (2015, O Dea HS, WA), a Washington commit, went 2-3 with 1 run scored.

He also flashed a good change in the upper-70s and a curve in the low-70s. Teammate RHP Ariel Diaz (2015, Greenacres, FL) fanned a pair in 1.0 inning in relief. Diaz showed a loose arm and deceptive delivery, firing strikes at 86-90 mph with armside run and riding life. He also flashed an upper-70s slider with tight rotation and good depth.

Isaiah Kerns (2016, Lewsitown, PA) recorded a game-high three hits for the Rookies. Teammate Daulton Martin (2016, Lancaster, PA) went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.

UCF commit 3B/RHP Rylan Thomas (2016, Winter Garden, FL) struck out two in 2.0 innings for Florida. He was around the plate with his pitches, changing speeds well from his 86-89 mph heater with sink to his low-70s curve with good depth and 12/6 break. Thomas also flashed a late-breaking slider in the low-80s. 

Clemson commit RHP Graham Lawson (2015, Woodruff, SC) fanned a pair in 1.2 innings of relief for the Devils. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder displayed an effortless arm action, attacking hitters at 85-92 mph with heavy sink. Lawson maintained his arm speed with his upper-70s deceptive changeup.

For Palm Beach, Mack Lemieux (2015, Tequesta, FL), Matthew Morales (2015, Wellington, FL) and Tyler Huggins (2015, Boynton, FL) each recorded two hits. Lemieux also drove in a pair of runs, and Morales stole two bases.

Maine commit Andrew Noviello (2015, Raynham, MA) tied the game with a two-run triple and later scored on an error to put Syracuse on top. Noviello displayed a fluid stoke with excellent bat speed and leverage in his swing. 

Jack Weiller (2015, Waccabuc, NY) went 2-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, an RBI and two runs scored. 

Boston College commit RHP Jacob Stevens (2015, Darien, CT) started and pitched 2.0 innings for Syracuse, striking out two. He showed good command and projectable stuff, firing strikes at 87-91 mph with riding life. Stevens also flashed a good 12/6 curve in the mid-70s.

Josh Shaw (2015, Wayne, NJ) hit a walk-off RBI double to lift 9ers Prime (2-1-1) to a 9-8 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team (0-4) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Each team scored in five of the six innings, producing a wild back-and-forth contest.

Shaw, a St. John's commit, went 2-for-4 with the game-winning double and a triple. He drove in two and scored twice. In the field, Shaw displayed a good arm. Teammate Evan Madigan (2016, Point Plesant, NJ) went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

College of Charleston commit Aaron Pilkington (2016, Waxhaw, NC) and David Nash (2015, Monroe, NC) each recorded two hits for the South Charlotte Panthers (3-0) in their 6-1 win over the PG Crimson Bandits (0-4) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Pilkington doubled and scored a run, while Nash tripled. Teammate AJ Bumpass (2015, Rougemont, NC) went 1-for-1 with two walks and three stolen bases. 

RHP Austin Leonard (2015, Matthews, NC) struck out 13 in 6.2 innings for the Panthers. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder worked in the 80-83 mph range, peaking at 85. Leonard also flashed an upper-70s breaking pitch and an upper-70s changeup.

The On Deck O's (2-1) rallied with three in the 5th an two in the 6th to complete the 5-2 comeback win over Baseball U Tucci Lumber (0-4) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Boone Owenby (2015, Gastonia, NC) led the O's with two hits and a stolen base, and teammate Conner Anderson (2015, Gastonia, NC) went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Alex Kirilloff (2016, New Kensington, PA) led Baseball U with two hits and two RBI. 

RHP Chris Farrell (2015, Great Falls, VA) started and pitched 4.0 one-hit innings for Baseball U, striking out six. Farrell worked in the 84-88 mph range with life, and mixed in a mid-70s changeup and mid-70s curve.
Stars shine in Houston's 7-0 win

The Houston Banditos (2-2) scored in four different innings in their 7-0 win over the Chattanooga Cyclones (0-3) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Texas commits Kody Clemens (2015, Houston, TX) and Ryan Reynolds (2016, Monroe, LA) recorded two hits each for the Banditos. 

Texas A&M commit Nash Walters (2015, Lindale, TX) truck out a pair in 1.2 innings for Houston. The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder displayed a quick arm and smooth delivery, firing strikes at 88-91 mph, peaking at 92 with life. Walters also flashed an upper-60s curve. Teammate and Long Beach State commit LHP Jacob Hughey (2015, Long Beach, CA) tossed a scoreless inning, working in the 85-88 mph range. The southpaw also flashed a low-70s changeup.
Rookies rally with 3-run 7th to beat Chandler, 5-2

The Mid-Atlantic Rookies (1-2) scored three runs in the top of the 7th to secure a 5-2 win over Chandler World (3-2) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Jarad Clevenger (2015, Tallahassee, FL) and Cameron Comer (2015, Powell, OH) recorded two hits each for the Rookies. Chandler's Travis Blankenhorn (2015, Pottsville, PA) and Loyola Marymount commit Dalton Blumenfeld (2015, Los Angeles, CA) added two hits of their own. Blankenhorn showed a patient approach and a live bat. 

Kansas commit RHP Jackson Goddard (2015, Tulsa, OK) struck out five in 3.1 innings for Chandler. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder showed an effortless arm action and bulldog mentality on the mound, firing strikes at 87-89 mph, peaking at 90. Goddard also flashed a plus 1/7 curve in the mid-70s, and an upper-70s changeup. Teammate and Notre Dame commit C/RHP Sam Ferri (2016, Norridge, IL) was in the 87-88 mph range in his brief relief appearance.
Braves improve to 3-1 with 10-0 win

Seven different players recorded a hit for the Richmond Braves (3-1) in their 10-0 win over Georgia PG Texas Orange (1-3) Sunday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Jack Morris (2015, Ruckersville, VA) and Kieton Rivers (2015, Suffolk, VA) each recorded two hits and an RBI for the Braves. Morris also stole two bases and scored twice, showing good bat speed at the plate, a quick first step on the bases, and a leadoff approach. Rivers displayed good bat speed and a confident approach. In the field he showed soft hands and a quick release. Teammate Chandler Redmond (2015, Middletown, MD) went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Redmond showed power potential with good extension and lift in his swing.


For Georgia, Christopher Hummel (2016, Marietta, GA) and Cameron Hearn (2015, Atlanta, GA) recorded two hits each. Hummel showed a patient approach at the plate with a fluid stroke. Hearn displayed a line drive swing plane and moved down the line well.

Liberty commit OF/LHP Khalil Lee (2016, Centreville, VA) pitched a complete game shutout for the Braves, striking out nine and walking none. He threw 58 of 78 pitches for strikes (74 percent). Lee displayed an effortless arm action and smooth delivery, firing strikes from an overtop arm angle at 83-87 mph. He maintained his arm speed when offering a good changeup in the low-80s, and also flashed an upper-70s curve.
Santillan leads Mustangs past PG Vegas Gold

The Dallas Mustangs defeated the Northeast PG Vegas Gold 10-4 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Texas Tech commit, Antonio Santillan (2015, Seguin HS, TX), led the way for the Mustangs' offense showing good bat speed and extension going 1-3 with 2 RBI.  Steele Walker (2015, Prosper HS, TX), an Oklahoma commit, also showed well using a spray approach and a good eye to go 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Nic Motley (2015, Southlake Carroll HS, TX) added in a 1-2 day at the plate with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.

Georgetown commit, Jack Cushing (2015, Marcus HS, TX), picked up the win for the Mustangs tossing 1 inning of relief allowing 2 walks and striking out 1 batter.  Cushing featured an 83-85/86 mph fastball and mixed in mid 70's curveball.  

For the PG Vegas Gold, Kenneth Moreno-Costa (2016, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL) showed good plate coverage and good bat speed as he went 2-4 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

The Houston Heat defeated Chet Lemon's Juice 5-0 to improve to 2-0-1 in the tournament.  Anthony Pagano (2015, Atascocita HS, TX) started and earned the win for the Heat tossing 7 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out an impressive 11 batters.  Pagano featured an 84-87/89 mph fastball and mixed in a 75-77 mph curveball.  He also had a strong day at the plate going 2-3 with 1 RBI.  

Barrett Koerselman (2015, Huntsville HS, TX) led the way for the Heat offense going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Caleb Morris (2015, Spring HS, TX), a Houston commit, added in a 2-3 day with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  Texas commit, Tyler Rand (2015, Langham Creek HS, TX), also impressed going 2-3 with 1 run scored.

William McAffer (2015, Sentinel Secondary HS, BC) started and earned the win for the Blaze going 4 innings allowing 4 runs, but only 1 earned, on 6 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 7 batters.  McAffer featured an 84-88/89 mph fastball and mixed in a 75-78 mph curveball and a 79-83 mph changeup.

The top ranked player in the 2015 class, Brendan Rogers (2015, Lake Mary HS, FL), a Florida State commit, shined defensively showing soft, sure hands and an accurate arm from the shortstop position and also scored 1 run offensively. 

Florida State commit, Tyler Holton (2015, Lincoln HS, FL), started the game for the Scorpions going 3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and no walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Holton showed an effortless arm action and set up hitters effectively with an 85-87/88 mph fastball and mixed in a late breaking 75 mph curveball, short breaking 79-81 mph slider and a deceptive 74-77 mph changeup.

Reds win despite being out-hit 10-4

The Reds Midwest Scout Team (3-0) scored seven runs on four hits and eight walks in their 7-4 win ver PG Team Northeast (0-2) Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

RHP Anthony Holubecki (2016, Elburn, IL) started and pitched 3.0 innings for the Reds, holding Team Northeast to just one hit. Holubecki, a Notre Dame commit, showed control to both sides of the plate and he grooved his plus fastball at 85-90 mph. He also flashed a low-70s changeup with armside run. Teammate and Missouri commit LHP Ty Shoaff (2015, Cuyahoga Falls, OH) tossed 2.0 innings, working in the 80-86 mph range with a low-70s breaking pitch. RHP Trey Schramm (2015, Pine Grove, IL) showed a quick arm, working fast and attacking hitters at 84-86 mph in his 2.0 innings. Schramm also showed a low-70s breaking pitch.

David Yann (2015, Pipersville, PA) and Alan Marrero (2016, San Juan, PR) each had two hits for Team Northeast. Yann doubled, tripled and walked from the three-hole in the lineup. Marrero went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Notre Dame commit Cole Daily (2015, Springfield, IL) showed a selective eye and good plate discipline, going 0-for-1 with three walks from the Reds' leadoff spot. Daily also stole a base, scored a run and drove in another.

D-BAT defeated PG Crimson Bandits 9-2 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Jackson Nicholas (2016, Central Heights HS, TX) led the way for the D-BAT offense going 1-1 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Hudson Sanchez (2016, Southlake Carroll HS, TX), a Texas A&M commit, added in a 1-2 day at the plate with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 walk.  Brad Czerniejewski (2017, Lake Forest HS, IL) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Isaac Schlabach (2015, Timber Creek HS, TX) started and earned the win for D-BAT going 3 innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8 batters.  Schlabach showed a quick arm and a deceptive delivery with a good 84-87/89 mph fastball and mixed in a 74-76 mph curveball and a good 77-78 mph changeup.

Three different players recorded multi-hit efforts for Palm Beach PAL (2-1) in their 6-1 win over Team Mizuno Puerto Rico (0-3) Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Zach Zientarski, (2016, Jupiter, FL) led the offensive charge, going 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI. Teammate Hunter Bowling (2015, Lake Worth, FL) went 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk, and Jowenrick Daantji (2015, Boynton Beach, FL) went 2-for-4 with a double. Daantji covered a lot of ground in the outfield, and moved down the line quickly from home plate.

South Florida commit LHP Jovani Moran (2015, Sabana Grande, PR) started and pitched 4.0 innings for Team Mizuno, striking out seven. Moran worked in the 83-88 mph range, peaking at 90 and maintained his arm speed when throwing his upper-70s changeup with good sink. Teammate RHP Austin Figueroa (2015, Gurabo, PR) fanned four in 2.2 innings. His fastball sat at 85-87 from a high 3/4 arm angle. Figueroa also flashed an upper-60s curve with 12/6 break.

Keyed by a five-run 4th inning, Baseball Northwest (2-1) beat All Star Baseball Academy (1-1) 9-0 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Nathan Blakeney (2016, High Point, NC) led the Northwest offense, going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and five RBI. He displayed excellent bat speed and a linedrive swing plane at the plate. In the field, he showed a good first step and an accurate arm.

Washington commit Rex Stephan (2015, Seattle, WA) went 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs from the leadoff spot. Teammate and Tacoma CC commit Taylor Adams (2015, Lacey, WA) went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. 

RHP Connor Hock (2015, Green Bay, WI) started and pitched 5.0 one-hit innings for Northwest, striking out five. Chicago Scouts Association (1-2) pounded-out 10 hits in their 4-2 win over South Florida PG Navy (1-2) Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Jeremy Houston (2016, Dolton, IL) and Western Illinois commit Jimmy Perkins (2015, Cary, IL) each went 2-for-3 for Chicago. Teammate Jack Suwinski (2016, Chicago, IL) went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk. Suwinski displayed a live bat and gap power at the plate. In the field, he showed solid defensive tools and the ability to cover a lot of ground.

Alejandro Toral (2017, Davie, FL) went 1-for-2 with a walk, a home run and two RBI for South Florida. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound left-handed hitter showed off his raw power and potential.

The South Charlotte Panthers defeated the Sandlot Scout Team 2-0 to improve their record to 2-0 in the tournament.  Aaron Pilkington (2016, Ardrey Kell HS, NC) led the way for the Panthers' offense showing a short, compact swing and excellent bat speed going 1-2 with a solo home run and 1 walk.  Andrew Moritz (2015, Providence HS, NC), a UNC Greensboro commit, showed good plate coverage and used an aggressive approach going 2-2 at the plate with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 walk.  UNC commit, Josh Hiatt (2015, Providence HS, NC), also impressed as he stayed inside the ball well and showed a quick bat as he went 2-3 with 1 RBI.

Keyed by a four-run 5th inning, the Dallas Tigers (3-0-1) beat the St. Louis Pirates/Midwest Mets Scout Team (2-2) 5-2 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

TCU commit Zachary Humphreys (2016, Desoto, TX), Michael Berglund (2016, Corpus Christi, TX) and Christian Ross Cadena (2017, Southlake, TX) recorded two hits each for Dallas. Humphreyes also doubled, walk, stole a base and scored twice from the leadoff spot. Cadena tripled and drove in a run.

Goodman also flashed an upper-70s curve. Teammate RHP Brooks Buckler (2015, Norcross, GA) fanned four in 2.2 innings. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder worked in the 85-87 mph range, with an upper-70s curve.

SGV Arsenal (1-0-1) scored one in the bottom of the 6th to salvage a 6-6 tie with the Texas Yankees Scout Team (2-0-1) Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Texas State commit Jonathan Ortega (2015, Victoria, TX) led all players with three hits, two runs scored and two RBI for the Yankees. He also stole a base. Ortega displayed a quick bat and sound, confident hitting approach. Teammate and Tennessee commit Ke'Bryan Hayes (2015, Tomball, TX) went 2-for-2 with a walk, a home run and two RBI. Hayes showed excellent bat speed with leverage in his swing.

Chipola College commit SS/RHP Tekwaan Whyte (2015, Stone Mountain, GA) started and pitched 3.0 innings for the Yankees, striking out six. He displayed an effortless arm action and smooth delivery, firing strikes with his plus fastball at 86-90 mph, peaking at 91. Whyte also flashed a low-80s curve with 1/7 break. Teammate and Florida commit RHP MacGregor Hines (2015, College Station, TX) attacked hitters in the 87-90 mph range down in the zone in his 2.0 innings. Hines maintained arm speed when throwing a low-80s changeup with good sink, and also flashed a good curve with late break in the mid-70s. Florida commit LHP Jordan Butler (2017, Tampa, FL) struck out eight in 4.1 innings for the Burn, throwing 43 of 53 pitches for strikes (81 percent). His fastball sat in the 83-89 mph range, with a low-70s curve. 

Vanderbilt commit RHP Donny Everett (2015, Clarksville, TN) started and fanned five in 3.0 innings for the Royals. He displayed a loose arm action and good extension out front, firing strikes with a plus fastball at 91-95 mph, peaking at 96. Everett also flashed a low-80s slider with good depth and late break. Georgia PG Texas Orange (1-2) beat the Diamond Devils (1-1) 2-0 Saturday morning in a game that saw many pitchers shine.

RHP Jonathan McKinney (2015, Marietta, GA) struck out five in 4.0 shutout innings for Georgia, throwing 29 of 42 pitches for strikes (69 percent). The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder worked in the 84-86 mph range with armside run. McKinney maintained his arm speed when throwing his low-70s changeup. RHP Austin Havekost (2015, Peachtree City, GA) started and pitched 3.0 one-hit innings for the Chilidogs, striking out eight. He was around the plate with all his pitches, showing an effortless arm action while firing strikes at 83-88 mph down in the zone. Ben Troike (2016, Tinley Park, IL) recorded the game's only multi-hit effort, going 2-for-3 with the game's only RBI. 

LHP Robert Talarico, (2015, Joliet, IL) tossed a three-hit complete game shutout for Cangelosi, striking out seven over 7.0 innings. His fastball sat at 80-84 mph, and he worked in a low-70s curve. His starting counterpart, RHP Easton McGee (2016, Hopkinsville, KY) fanned seven over 6.0 innings. A Kentucky commit, McGeee worked in the 85-88 mph range with a low-70s breaking pitch.

Dulin Dodgers/Rockies Scout Team (2-1) held off the PG Dark Green Clippers' (0-3) late rally to win 4-2 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Mississippi commit Thomas Dillard (2016, Cordova, TN) led the Dodgers' offensive charge, going 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base. He displayed good bat speed with lift in his swing. Teammates Alex Sala (2015, Germantown, TN) and College of Charleston commit Drake Frix (2016, Plainville, GA) added two hits each, while Mississippi commit Grae Kessinger (2016, Oxford, MS) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. 

Mississippi State LHP Trysten Barlow (2015, Halls, TN) struck out four in 2.0 scoreless innings for the Dodgers. He displayed a live arm, firing strikes at 83-88 mph with a low-70s curve. Kevin DeLaney (2015, Coralville, IA) went 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot in Midwest PG Red's (2-1) 3-0 win over Scorpions South (1-2) Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

LHP Thomas Spinelli (2016, Ocala, FL) struck out six in 6.0 shutout innings for Midwest. He displayed good command, attacking hitters at 84-87 mph with cutting action. He maintained arm speed when throwing an upper-70s changeup, and also flashed a low-70s curve. Teammate RHP Austin Suhr (2015, Bettendorf, IA) fanned a pair in 1.0 inning. He displayed a live arm, firing strikes with command at 82-86 mph from a high 3/4 arm angle.

SWFL Baseball (3-0) scored in five different innings to beat Canada PG Gold (0-4) by a score of 7-0 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Florida commit Troy Bacon (2015, Tampa, FL) led all players with two hits and three RBI. 

Four pitchers combined on the one-hitter for SWFL, including Charleston Southern commit LHP Shane McClanahan (2015, Cape Coral, FL), who struck out five in 3.0 innings. McClanahan displayed sound mechanics while working in the 85-89 mph range. He also flashed a late-breaking curve in the mid-70s. Teammate RHP Jacinto Arredondo (2016, Center Hill, FL) fanned a pair in 1.0 inning. The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder fired strikes at 89-90. He also flashed a good slider in the mid-70s.

The Mid-Atlantic PG Orange defeated the Kentucky Baseball Club 3-0 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Penn State commit, Eric Mock (2015, Governor Mifflin HS, PA), started and earned the win for the PG Orange throwing 3 shutout innings on the mound allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 batters.  Mock showed good velocity with his 85-88/89 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-76 mph curveball.  

Conlin Hughes (2015, Holly Springs HS, NC), another Penn State commit, led the way for the PG Orange offense going 2-3 with 1 RBI and Eastern Kentucky commit, Dakota Graham (2015, Dover HS, DE), also impressed going 1-3 with 1 RBI.

Mountain West '14 (1-1-1) scored five runs on three hits in their 5-0 win over the Upstate Mavericks (2-2) Saturday afternoon at the Roger Dean Complex. 

RHP Travis Marr (2016, Castle Rock, CO) started and pitched 5.2 innings for Mountain West, striking out eight. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder worked in the 83-86 mph range. He flashed a good slider in the low-70s and maintained his arm speed while mixing in a deceptive changeup in the mid-70s. Teammate RHP Blake Goldsberry, (2015, Highlands Ranch, CO) showed projectable stuff, firing strikes at 83-85 mph from his 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame. Goldsberry also flashed an upper-60s curve and a low-70s changeup.

Elite Squad Prime (2-1) scored the game's only run on a Roman Gonzalez (2015, Hialeah, FL) RBI double in the 4th inning to beat D-BAT (0-2) 1-0 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Polk State commit RHP Thomas Romero (2015, Plantation, FL) struck out four in 2.0 innings for Elite Squad. He showed a quick arm and was around the plate with his pitches, including a fastball at 86-89 mph from an overtop arm angle. He also threw a changeup in the upper-70s and a low-70s curve. Nelson Baseball/Team GA defeated the Tidewater Orioles 8-2 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Northwestern commit, Jack Dunn (2015, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA), led the way for the Nelson Baseball/Team GA offense going 2-4 with 1 double and 3 RBI.  Chase Trader (2015, Breman HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day at the plate with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Colin LoCurto (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) earned the win out of the bullpen for Nelson Baseball/Team GA going 3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 2 batters.  LoCurto featured a 77-81/83 mph fastball with a 72-74 mph changeup and a 67 mph curveball.

Grant Berry (2015, Marietta, GA) and Joey Bart (2015, Buford, GA) each went 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs scored for Team Rawlings. Berry drove in a team-high three runs, Bart plated two.

Georgia Tech commit RHP Keyton Gibson (2015, Buford, GA) and 3B/RHP Logan Moody (2015, LaGrange, GA) combined on a one-hit shutout. Gibson struck out seven in 4.0 innings, working fast while flashing dominant stuff, including a plus fastball at 87-89 mph, peaking at 90. He also flashed a plus curve in the upper-70s. In a game that was scoreless entering the 7th inning, the St. Louis Gamers 18u (2-1) scored eight runs in the top of the last frame to beat On Deck O's (1-1) 8-0 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

Cal Elvers (2016, Springfield, IL) and Will Robertson (2016, Loose Creek, MO) recorded two hits, a run and an RBI each for St. Louis. Teammates Noah Croft (2015, Olathe, KS) and Tucker Jones (2016, Matthews, NC) each recorded two RBI. 

RHP John Howard (2015, St. Louis, MO) and RHP Mike Waldron (2015, Omaha, NE) combined to throw a two-hitter for the Gamers. Howard allowed the two hits in 4.0 innings, working in the 78-82 mph range. Keyed by a five-run 1st inning, Lids Indiana Bulls (1-2) beat Team Evoshield (1-1-1) 5-2 Saturday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Duncan Hewitt (2016, Indianapolis, IN) led the Bulls with two hits. He also scored and drove in a run, showing a quick bat and an aggressive approach. Behind the plate, he displayed solid defensive tools and the ability to block pitches in the dirt.

South Carolina commit Joe Rizzo (2016, Oak Hill, VA) and Florida commit Austin Langworthy (2016, Williston, FL) recorded two hits each for Evoshield. Rizzo produced the team's only extra-base hit while displaying good bat speed and loose, strong wrists. Langworthy stayed inside the ball well with a balanced swing.

RHP Michael Bienlien (2016, Chesapeake, VA) struck out three in 3.0 innings for Evoshield. The South Carolina commit showed good follow through and a long arm action, firing strikes at 84-87 mph with armside run and sink. Bienlien maintained his armspeed when throwing a plus change with deception in the upper-70s. He also flashed a low-70s curve.

Florida Atlantic commit LHP Jordan Poore (2015, Muncie, IN) started and pitched 4.0 scoreless innings for the Bulls, striking out five. He worked from a smooth, balanced delivery, firing strikes at 84-86 mph, peaking at 88. Poore also flashed a good curve in the low-70s. Teammate and Indiana commit RHP Luke Miller (2015, Muncie, IN) recorded two outs in relief, attacking hitters with a plus fastball at 85-90 mph from an overtop arm angle. LHP Nathan Altstadt (2016, Solon, OH) started and pitched 6.0 innings for Arsenal, striking out six. The Alabama commit stands 6-foot-5, 200 pounds with a large frame and room to fill. He was around the plate with all his pitches, including a fastball at 79-85 mph. Alstadt also flashed a low-70s curve and mid-70s changeup. Teammate RHP Ted Sabato (2016, Rye Brook, NY) wowed in his 1.0 inning of relief, attacking hitters at 87-89 mph from an overtop arm angle.

Jack Perkins (Belleview, FL, 2015) provided much of the offense for Chet Lemon's Juice, going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run. Andrew Baker (Tavares, FL, 2016) sparked the offense from the leadoff spot, going 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.

Huge comeback propels CBA Marucci to win

Down 3-0 late to Texas PG Teal, CBA Marucci struck for four runs in the top of the seventh inning to win, 4-3 in dramatic fashion.

Ross Dodds (Clovis, CA, 2015) provided the big bat for the CBA offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Jacob Parrott (Lucas, TX, 2016) provided the fireworks for the Texas team, going 1-for-1 with a home run to centerfield in the fourth inning, showing excellent bat speed and huge power potential. He also came around to score twice. Marshall Skinner (Cypress, TX, 2016) went 1-for-2 with a double and 2 RBI for Texas.

Bailey Falter (Chino Hills, CA, 2015) went 5.2 innings on the mound for CBA and recorded an impressive 10 strikeouts. He struck out the side in order to start the ballgame. Falter displayed a fastball that topped at 87 mph. Bryce Fehmel (Agoura, CA, 2015) earned the win, tossing a perfect inning of relief and collecting a pair of strikeouts. His fastball topped at 88 mph.

Wesley Rodriguez (Bronx, NY, 2015) tossed 4 shoutout innings for Texas, giving up just 2 hits and 2 walks while tallying 7 strikeouts. He showed an 87-94 mph fastball that topped at 95 mph, a plus curveball at 77 mph with 11/5 break, and a good 84 mph changeup. Khalil Lee (Centreville, VA, 2016) provided the fireworks for the Richmond Braves when connected for a 2-out 2-run home run to right field to help his team walk off 4-3 winners over the Florida Burn. Lee finished the game 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, 3 RBI, and a run scored. He showed a quick bat with big time power potential.

Cole Crowder (Lakeland, FL, 2015), Kevin Lara (Kissimmee, FL, 2015), Jacob Grenus (Kissimmee, FL, 2015), and Colton Chupp (Myakka City, FL, 2015) combined to toss a 7 inning shutout. Crowder started on the bump and collected 2 strikeouts in 2 innings of work. He showed his 68 mph curveball to be an out pitch. Curran showed huge power potential when he connected for a home run to right field in the first inning. Perfect Game All-American Brendan Rodgers (Longwood, FL, 2015) paced the Orlando offense, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. He showed the ability to stay inside the ball with a fluid stroke and a quick bat. Matthew Mika (Lake Worth, FL, 2015) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored from the leadoff spot, while teammate Tyler Holton (Tallahassee, FL, 2015) provided the team's only extra-base hit when he connected for a triple.

Mitchell Garrity (Indianapolis, IN, 2016) and Jordan Poore (Muncie, IN, 2015) provided 4 of the 5 hits for the Bulls offense. Garrity went 2-for-2, while Poore finished 2-for-3.

Clayton Morell (Boynton Beach, FL, 2015) and Jesse Ferreira (Naples, FL, 2015) combined to toss the shutout for the Scorpions. Morell threw 4 impressive shutout innings, giving up just a lone hit while tallying 7 strikeouts. Morell tossed a fastball that ranged between 87-90 mph with good arm side run. Bryce Rogers-Black (North Beach, MD, 2016) paced the Tidewater Orioles offense with a single and a pair of RBI.

The Dallas Mustangs got an outstanding offensive performance out of Peyton Grassanovits (Dallas, TX, 2015), who went 2-for-2 with an RBI out of the leadoff spot. Steele Walker (Prosper, TX, 2015) connected for a triple, while teammates Antonio Santillan (Arlington, TX, 2015), Trey Sledge (Coppell, TX, 2015), and Bryce Verplank (Flower Mound, TX, 2015) each added doubles to the Dallas offense.

The Ohio Warhawks defeated Team Mizuno Puerto Rico 6-4 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.  Curtis Terry (2015, Archer HS, GA) led the way for the Warhawks' offense using an aggressive, confident approach to go 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Joseph Sibeto (2016, Chartiers Valley HS, PA) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Preston Pavlica (2015, Liberty HS, NV) added in a 2-3 day at the plate as he stayed inside the ball well and showed a rotational swing with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.

Baseball Northwest defeated NJ PG Kelly Green 11-3 for their first win of the tournament.   Rex Stephan (2015, O Dea HS, WA), a Washington commit, led the way for the Baseball Northwest offense used a patient approach going 3-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 3 RBI and 2 walks.  Taylor Adams (2015, Timberline HS, WA) used an aggressive approach and got good extension going 1-4 with 1 double and Anders Green (2015, Silverton HS, OR) went 2-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 2 walks.  Robbie Jo Gerarden (2015, Kentlake HS, WA) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Team Rawlings defeated the New York PG Maroon 3-1 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Joey Bart (2015, Buford HS, GA), a Georgia Tech commit, led the way for the Team Rawlings' offense going 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Georgia Tech commit, Tyler Stephenson (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA), added in a 1-3 day at the plate with 1 triple and 1 run scored.  Tulane commit, Tyler Heinrichs (2015, Walton HS, GA), also impressed going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

Georgia commit, Shane Tucker (2015, Union Grove HS, GA), started and earned the win for Team Rawlings allowing 1 unearned run on no hits and no walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Tucker showed an effortless arm action on his 86-92 mph fastball and his 74-80 mph curveball.

The Dallas Tigers defeated the Upstate Mavericks 8-1 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Ray Gaither (2016, Coppell HS, TX), a Dallas Baptist commit, led the way for the Tigers' offense going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Trey Ochoa (2015, Rockwall HS, TX) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 2 walks.  Chrstian Ross Cadena (2017, Southlake Carroll HS, TX) added in a 1-2 performance with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 2 walks.

For the Heat offense, Sam Houston State commit, Andrew Fregia (2015, Liberty HS, TX), went 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Jake Almendarez (2015, Pearland HS, TX), a Texas State commit, also impressed going 2-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  

Tate Gillespie (2015, Lake Travis HS, TX) started and took a no decision for the Heat throwing 4 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters. Gillespie featured an 84-86/87 mph fastball, while effectively mixing in a 69-72 mph curveball and a 73-75 mph changeup.  

Joe Zirolli (2015, Kennett HS, PA) led the way for the PG Orange offense going 1-3 with 1 triple and 1 run scored.  Nicholas Lafferty (2015, Archbishop Wood HS, PA) added in a 1-3 performance with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

The Sandlot Scout Team defeated the PG Crimson Bandits 12-0 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament.  Oklahoma State commit, Corey Zangari (2015, Carl Albert HS, OK), helped power the Sandlot offense using an aggressive approach and showing light-tower power as he went 2-3 with 1 grand slam, 1 double, 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.  Riley Keizor (2015, Verdigris HS, OK) also impressed going 1-3 showing raw power with a 3-run home run.  Josh Rolette (2015, Shawnee HS, OK) added in a 2-3 day at the plate as he stayed inside the ball well using a short, compact swing with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Jaylen Ferguson (2015, Arlington HS, TX) contributed a 1-1 day using a sound hitting approach and showing good bat speed putting up 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base with 2 walks.

Texas Tech commit Josh Naylor (2015, Mississauga, ON) homered and scored twice for the Ontario Blue Jays in their 7-4 win over the Marlins Scout Team Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Naylor displayed good bat speed and extension with light tower power.

Nico Hoerner (2015, Oakland, CA) led all players with three hits, including a double, for the Marlins. Teammate Vito Friscia (2015, Valley Stream, NY) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. a Hofstra commit, Friscia showed good bat speed and a power approach at the plate.

RHP Graham Ashcraft (2016, Brownsboro, AL) struck out three in 3.0 innings for the Marlins, working in the 84-89 mph range. Teammate and Columbia commit LHP Lucas Hall (2015, Seaford, NY) fanned a pair in 1.0 inning. Hall's fastball was in the 84-87 mph. He also flashed a mid-70s curve.

The Evoshield Canes defeated the 9ers Prime 2-1 to move to 2-0 in the tournament.  Georgia commit, Dakota Chalmers (2015, North Forsyth HS, GA), started and earned the win for the Canes tossing 3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and no walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Chalmers attacked hitters and missed bats with his explosive 90-94 mph fastball with big life, a plus 76-77 mph curveball, a short breaking 80-84 mph slider and a 81 mph changeup that flashed potential.  

NC State commit, Xavier LeGrant (2015, Phillip O Berry Academy of Tec HS, NC), led the way offensively for the Canes going 1-3 with 1 RBI.  Danny Blair (2015, IMG Academy HS, MD), a South Carolina commit, also impressed from the leadoff spot going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.

The Dallas Tigers and Mountain West '14 played to a 2-2 tie Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. 

Dallas Baptist commit RHP MD Johnson (2016, Red Oak, TX) struck out seven in 4.0 innings for the Tigers. The 6-foot-5, 165-pounder pitched in the 86-90 mph range, peaking at 92. He showed a full arsenal, also offering a mid-70s curve, a low-80s slider and a low-80s changeup.

RHP Paul Tillotson (2016, Monument, CO) struck out five in 4.1 innings for Mountain West. His fastball sat at 86-88 mph. Tillotson also flashed an upper-70s changeup and a low-70s curve. Teammate and North Carolina commit RHP Bo Weiss (2016, Castle Rock, CO) tossed a scoreless inning, working in the 87-89 mph range. Weiss also showed an upper-70s changeup and low-70s curve.

The On Deck O's defeated the Texas PG Teal 4-0 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Eric Whitecavage (2015, Weddington HS, NC) started and earned the win for the O's tossing 6 shutout innings allowing just 5 hits and no walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Whitecavage hid the ball well and showed projectable stuff on the mound, including his 82-85/87 mph fastball that had good life, a 71-73 mph curveball and a 71-74 mph slider.  

Tyler Price (2015, East Gaston HS, C) led the way for the O's' offense going 1-2 with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Hayden Smith (2016, Charlotte Latin HS, NC) added in a 2-3 day at the plate and Conner Anderson (2015, Hunter Huss HS, NC) went 1-2 with 1 stolen base.

South Florida PG Navy scored in five different innings in their 8-1 win over the Mid-Atlantic Rookies Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Luis Chavez (2016, Miramar, FL) went 1-for-2 with a homer and a walk for South Florida, displaying good bat speed and a sound hitting approach.

Campbell commit RHP Collin Liberatore (2015, Greensburg, PA) struck out a pair in 2.0 innings for the Rookies. He displayed good mound presence and an overtop arm angle, working in the 85-87 mph range. Teammate and Maryland commit LHP Billy Phillips (2015, Wilmington, DE) also fanned two in 2.0 innings. The southpaw worked in the 84-89 mph range with a mid-70s curve.

The Texas Sun Devils beat Scorpions South 1-0 Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex in a game that featured eight hits, all by different players.

LHP Ryan Leckich (2016, Port Neches, TX) started and pitched 5.0 two-hit innings for the Sun Devils. He worked fast and displated a quick arm, firing strikes at 84-87 mph, peaking at 89 with armside run. Leckich also flashed a good curve with 11/5 break in the upper-70s. Teammates LHP Tyler Booth (2016, Lake Charles, LA) and Texas commit RHP Chase Shugart (2015, Bridge City, TX) each tossed 1.0 scoreless inning. Booth pitched inside effectively, attacking hitters at 81-83 mph, with a good curve in the low-70s. Shugart displayed a live arm, firing strikes at 85-87 mph. 

Georgetown commit RHP Casey Goldenberg (2015, North Palm Beach, FL) started and pitched 4.1 innings for the Scorpions. He was around the plate with his pitches, working from a balanced delivery to fire strikes at 85-88 mph down in the zone and peaking at 90. Goldenberg also flashed a low-70s curve, an upper-70s slider and a mid-70s changeup.

Keyed by a seven-run 7th inning, the Royals Scout Team rolled over Georgia PG Texas Orange in a 10-1 win Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Tanner Mann-Fix (2015, Charlotte, NC) led the offensive attack, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a homer and four RBI. Mann-Fix, a left-handed batter and Appalachian State commit, displayed excellent bat speed and power to all fields.

Oklahoma commit Domenic DeRenzo (2015, Pittsburgh, PA) and Middle Tennessee State commit Blake Benefield (2015, Murfeesboro, TN) each went 2-for-4 for the Royals. DeRenzo showed a live bat with gap power at the plate, plus quick feet, an accurate arm and a quick release behind the plate. Teammate and Lipscomb commit Zeke Dodson (2015, Tifton, GA) went 1-for-3 with a walk and three RBI.

Vanderbilt commit RHP Patrick Raby (2015, Knoxville, TN) started and pitched 3.0 no-hit innings for the Royals, striking out six. He displayed a short, loose arm action, firing strikes at 87-90 mph. He also flashed second plus pitch, a mid-70s curve, and a good changeup in the low-80s. Teammate RHP Tyler Thompson (2016, Knoxville, TN) tossed 2.0 no-hit innings of his own, working in the 85-87 mph range. Thompson also offered a low-70s curve.

On a Friday morning full of last at-bat wins at the Roger Dean Complex, the Atlanta Blue Jays tallied another, thanks to a game-winning single in the top of the 7th by Nate Stinson (2016, Jonesboro, GA) to lift his team to a 3-2 win over the PG Dark Green Clippers.

Darius Sewell (2015, Decatur, GA) and Myles Moran (2015, Davie, FL) recorded two hits each for Atlanta. The Clippers' Bryson Smith (2016, Naples, FL) led all players with three hits. He also stole a base and drove in a run.

1B/RHP Alek Manoah (2016, Homestead, FL) pitched 1.1 innings of relief for Atlanta. The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder showed a loose arm and effortless arm action, firing strikes at 85-87 mph, peaking at 89 with armside run and sink. He also showed good feel for a 1/7 curve in the low-70s.

C/RHP Lukas Veinbergs (2015, Pinckney, MI) tossed 2.1 scoreless innings for the Clippers. He displayed a smooth delivery and outstanding arm speed, delivering fastballs at 83-87 mph. Veinbergs also flashed a low-70s changeup with good sink.

Hunter Hearn's (2015, Crosby, TX) walk-off single scored Texas State commit Nick Perez (2015, Austin, TX) to lift the Houston heat to a 4-3 win over Team Elite Prime Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Hearn went 2-for-2 with a walk and the game-winning hit. He has a large, projectable frame and showed good plate coverage with lift in his swing.

UAB commit RHP Garrett Whitlock (2015, Snellville, GA) pitched 4.0 innings for Team Elite, working in the 84-88 mph range with armside run and sink. Whitlock showed sound mechanics and a smooth delivery, also offering a pair of breaking pitches in the mid-to-upper-70s. 

The right-handed Perez, who went 1-for-3 and scored the game-winning run, started and pitched 4.0 scoreless innings for the Heat. He was around the plate with all his pitches, including a fastball at 83-87 mph. Kansas State commit Ethan Skender (2015, Metamora, IL) blasted a walk-off three-run homer to secure the Reds Midwest Scout Team's 4-1 win over Palm Beach Select 17u Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

RHP Cole Bellair (2015, Lockport, IL) started and pitched 3.0 scoreless innings for the Reds. The Illinois commit showed control to both sides of the plate, attacking hitters in the 87-89 mph range. He also flashed a good slider with tight rotation in the mid-70s.

Teammate and Missouri commit RHP Bryant Jordan (2015, Hubertus, WI) tossed 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He worked fast and was around the plate with his pitches, including a heavy heater at 89-91 mph, peaking at 92. The St. Louis Gamers 18u scored on a walk-off error in the bottom of the 7th to beat Baseball U Tucci Lumber, 3-2, Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex.

LHP Michael Plassmeyer (2015, St. Louis, MO) struck out 13 in 7.0 innings for the Gamers. The Missouri commit displayed good command and kept hitters off balance, working primarily in the 80-83 mph range with armside run. He also mixed in a 74-77 mph changeup that he threw with similar arm speed.

RHP Zachary Altieri (2015, Petersburg, NJ) started and pitched 4.0 innings for Baseball U, striking out six. The Hofstra commit showed a quick arm, attacking hitters at 83-85 mph with good command. West Virginia commit C/RHP Ryan McDonald (2016, Charleston, SC) started and pitched 4.0 scoreless innings for Vegas Gold. The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder showed a smooth delivery and sound mechanics, firing strikes at 82-85 mph, peaking at 86 with armside run and sink. McDonald also flashed a low-70s curve with good depth. Teammate RHP Kevin Fuentes (2015, Miami Springs, FL) struck out four in 1.2 innings of relief. He showed good command of his pitches and an effortless arm action, missing bats at 85-89 mph. Fuentes also flashed a mid-70s curve with 1/7 break.

Keyed by an eight-run 1st inning, Midwest PG Red beat Lids Indiana Bulls 9-1 Friday morning at the Roger Dean Stadium Complex.

Five different players recorded a hit for Midwest, including Kace Massner (2016, Burlington, IA), who went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Massner displayed a balanced swing with good bat speed and power potential. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Barry displayed good command of his fastball, firing strikes at 81-85 mph from an overtop arm angle.

Tim Quinn (2015, Media, PA) went 2-for-3 with all three RBI for All-Star Baseball Academy. He displayed a fluid stroke, good bat speed and a sound hitting approach at the plate, with gap power.

Sandlot scored their eight runs on three hits and nine walks, including three by Oklahoma commit Hunter Southerland (2015, Oklahoma City, OK). 

Oklahoma commit RHP Austin Hansen (2015, Lenexa, KS) struck out 11 in 5.0 one-hit innings for Sandlot. Texas A&M commit RHP Ashe Russell (2015, Indianapolis, IN) started and pitched 4.0 one-hit innings, striking out five. Russell threw 33 of 45 pitches for strikes (73 percent) and worked in the 88-92 mph range, peaking at 93. He also flashed a low-80s slider and low-80s changeup. Teammate and VCU commit RHP Jack Alkire (2015, Cheverly, MD) fanned four in 2.0 innings, working at 86-88 mph with an upper-70s changeup. RHP Evan Sperling (2015, Poquoson, VA) fired strikes at 90-92 mph. Sperling, a Virginia commit, also flashed a low-70s curve.

Cardinals Scout Team/FTB Chandler scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th on a two-run homer off the bat of UCF commit Jason Heinrich (2015, Spring Hill, FL) to help hold off Baseball Northwest's late rally and secure a 6-5 win Thursday night at the Roger Dean Complex. Heinrich displayed a fluid stroke and good plate coverage, going 2-for-3 with the aforementioned home run, a triple and three RBI.

Fellow UCF commit LHP Juan Hillman (2015, Haines City, FL) started and pitched 2.0 no-hit innings for FTB, striking out six. Hillman threw 18 of 23 pitches for strikes (78 percent), working in the 87-90 mph range with good life. He also flashed an 11/5 curve in the low-70s.

The Texas Sun Devils scored two runs in the top of the 7th, including the game-tying run on Darren Willis' (2016, Metairie, LA) RBI sacrifice, to salvage a 6-6 tie with Team Evoshield Thursday night at the Roger Dean Complex.

Rice commit Gavin Johnson (2015, San Antonio, TX) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Texas. Behind the plate, Johnson showed good arm strength and a quick release. LHP Dillon McCollough (2015, Deltona, FL) started and pitched 1.2 innings for Florida, striking out three. He showed a loose arm and effortless arm action, firing strikes at 82-85 mph. He also flashed a low-70s curve with 11/5 break. Teammate RHP Brian Brown (2016, Safety Harbor, FL) worked 1.1 innings in relief. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Brown has a projectable frame with room to fill. He worked from a smooth delivery with sound mechanics in the 82-87 mph range. Texas commit LHP Nick Kennedy (2015, Tampa, FL) tossed an inning in relief. His fastball sat at 87-88 mph.

The Texas Scout Team Yankees scored a pair of runs in the second inning before adding two more in the fourth inning to take a lead they wouldn't let go, defeating PG Dark Green Clippers, 4-2.

Bakari Gayle (Peachtree City, GA, 2015) had the big bat for the Yankees, going 2-for-2 with a 2-RBI double to center in the second inning. Gayle took an aggressive approach at the plate and showed a fluid swing with excellent strength. Satchel McElroy (League City, TX, 2015) connected for the team's other extra-base hit with a double to left field.

PG Dark Green Clippers' Nicholas Carloto (Trumbull, CT, 2015) tallied his team's lone extra-base hit when he smashed an RBI double to right field in the seventh inning.

Yankees starting pitcher Andy Pagnozzi (Fayetteville, AR, 2015) dazzled for 4 innings, striking out 3 hitters in 4 perfect innings. The Dulin Dodgers/Rockies Scout Team scratched across a late run in the sixth inning to break a scoreless ballgame and eventually defeat the Atlanta Blue Jays, 1-0.

Von Watson (Cordova, TN, 2015) connected for an RBI line drive single to center in drive in the game's lone run for Dulin. He showed great power potential and the ability to stay inside the ball with a quick bat. Drake Frix (Plainville, GA, 2016) had the game's lone extra-base hit when he connected for a double to right field in the second inning, showing excellent power potential.

Southpaw Ethan Small (Lexington, TN, 2015) and Weston Bizzle (Lynn Haven, FL, 2017) combined to toss a seven-inning no-hit shutout for Dulin. Small displayed projectable stuff as a crafty lefty, throwing a fastball that ranged between 86-91 mph and topped at 92 mph and an 11/5 curveball at 76 mph. He collected 10 strikeouts in 5 perfect innings, starting the game with 6 straight strikeouts. Upstate Mavericks use 10-run inning to win

The St. Louis Pirates/Midwest Mets Scout Team got off to a fast start and took a 5-0 lead after three innings before the Upstate Mavericks struck for 10 runs in the top of the fourth and eventually won, 13-5.

Dalton Light (Atlanta, GA, 2015) connected for the big hit to tie the game at 5-5 when he stroked a line drive bases-clearing triple to right field in the fourth inning. He showed positive hitting mechanics and an aggressive approach at the plate. He finished the game 1-for-2 with 3 RBI, 2 runs, and a walk. Benjamin Peden (Greenville, SC, 2015) added a huge hit for Upstate with a bases-clearing double to centerfield. He finished 1-for-2 with 3 RBI, 2 runs, and a pair of walks. Caleb Whitenton (Alto, GA, 2015) went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 runs, while Connor Stutts (Atlanta, GA, 2015) added the other double in addition to an RBI and a run.

Jake Zarrello (Miami, FL, 2016) had St. Louis' big extra-base hit when he connected for an RBI triple to deep centerfield, showing excellent power potential. Chris Cornelius (St. Louis, MO, 2016) drove in a run with a double to left field in the bottom of the third. Dane Toppel (South Elgin, IL, 2015) added the team's second double.

St. Louis pitcher Luke Shilling (Clarkston, MI, 2015) displayed a fastball that sat between 88-91 mph, while teammate Jacob Jaycox (Florissant, MO, 2015) topped at 89 mph from the mound.
Ontario Blue Jays strike for 10 runs in win

The Ontario Blue Jays struck quickly and never looked back, scoring 8 runs in the top of the first inning before eventually defeating New York PG Maroon, 10-0.

Perfect Game All-American Josh Naylor (Mississauga, ON, 2015) connected for the big hit of the afternoon with a 3-run homerun to right field in his first at-bat. He showed a solid approach with excellent bat speed and a lot of raw power. Nick Howie (Oakville, ON, 2015) connected for the team's other extra-base hit when he doubled to left field to lead off the ballgame. He went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and 2 runs scored. Darren Shred (Brampton, ON, 2015) paced the Ontario offense with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI.

Carnegy Calzado (Bronx, NY, 2015) tallied New York's lone extra-base hit with a double to right field, showing a fluid hitting stroke with positive gap power.

RJ Freure (Burlington, ON, 2015) earned the win for Ontario, tossing 3 shutout innings while giving up just 3 hits and striking out 5 hitters.



Marucci Elite records 6-0 shutout win

Marucci Elite scored early and often, tallying six runs and scoring in five straight innings to defeat the East Coast PG Grays.

Michael Benson (Vista, CA, 2015) paced the Marucci offense with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. He added an RBI double to the books as well. He showed an aggressive approach at the plate with sound hitting mechanics and good bat speed. Austin Shenton (Bellingham, WA, 2016) went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI and a walk for Marucci. He showed excellent patience at the plate.

The spotlight belonged to Marucci southpaw Tyler Watson (Gilbert, AZ, 2015), who tossed 5 electric no-hit innings while giving up a lone walk and striking out 9 East Coast hitters. He started the game off by striking out the side in order. He displayed an excellent arsenal that included an 85-88 mph fastball that topped at 89 mph, a late-breaking 11/5 curveball that topped at 74 mph which he commanded well, and a 79 mph slider that could be a potential plus pitch. Al Pesto (Savannah, GA, 2015) lit up radar guns in his 10-pitch inning of relief, with a fastball that sat between 89-91 mph.
Ohio Warhawks win a pitcher's duel, 1-0

Thanks to a sixth inning run, the Ohio Warhawks held on to shut out Palm Beach PAL in a 1-0 ballgame to start the WWBA World Championship.

A line drive double to left field off the bat of Curtis Terry (Snellville, GA, 2015) scored the game's lone run. He showed a sound hitting approach and stayed inside the ball well with a fluid stroke.

Aldrich De Jongh (Lake Worth, FL, 2016) paced the Palm Beach offense with a pair of singles. Pemron Burrows (Riviera Beach, FL, 2015) added a double for Palm Beach, the team's lone extra-base hit. He displayed a sound hitting approach with good gap power.

Jake Lovvorn (Tucker, GA, 2015), Larry Quaney III (Las Vegas, NV, 2015), Colin Kilgore (Cordova, TN, 2015), and Riley Cabral (Oklahoma City, OK, 2015) combined to shut out Palm Beach. Lovvorn gave up a hit and a pair of walks while striking out 2 in 2 innings of work. Quaney III gave up a hit and struck out 2 in 2 relief innings. Kilgore threw 2 innings of relief and gave up a hit and a walk while getting a strikeout. His fastball ranged between 86-88 mph and topped at 89 mph. Cabral displayed an 88-90 mph fastball in his inning of relief.

Ricky Miranda (Coconut Creek, FL, 2015) threw 4 shutout innings for Palm Beach, giving up a hit and a walk while tallying 4 strikeouts. Southpaw Kyle Farjad (Loxahatchee, FL, 2016) surrendered 1 earned run on a hit and a pair of walks while striking out 4 batters. His fastball ranged between 86-88 mph and topped at 89 mph. He also flashed potential for a plus slider that topped at 75 mph.






Chandler World bats come to life in win

Chandler World got off to a fast start, putting up 3 runs in the top of the first and 4 more in the second to take a commanding lead early. Despite a late rally by Chicago Scouts Association, Chandler World held on to win, 8-5.

Perfect Game All-American Devin Davis (Santa Clarita, CA, 2015) paced the Chandler offense with a 2-for-3 performance that includes a 2-RBI triple to right field in the first inning. Davis finished the game with 3 RBI, a walk, and a run scored, in edition to his 2 hits. Ty Denzer (Victoria, MN, 2015) and Ryan Sloniger (Punxsutawney, PA, 2015) each added doubles for Chandler. Denzer finished 1-for-2 with a run scored, while Sloniger was 1-for-3 with a run. Travis Blankenhorn (Pottsville, PA, 2015) contributed with a single and 2 runs. He displayed a short, compact swing with excellent bat speed.

Jack Suwinski (Chicago, IL, 2016) paced the Chicago offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a RBI, and a run scored. He showed a quick bat with good extension at the plate. Ben Rortvedt (New Glarus, WI, 2016) also had a 2-for-3 game with a RBI and a run scored.

Dallas Woolfolk (Southaven, MS, 2015) threw five excellent innings to earn the win for Chandler. He gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and a walk, while collecting 4 strikeouts. Woolfolk showed an 88-91 mph fastball that topped at 92 mph and showed life. He displayed positive mechanics and showed he can control his pitches. Luke Glavin (Williamsport, PA, 2015) tossed 2 no-hit innings of relief, walking a batter and striking out 2.

Shane Ritter (Plainfield, IL, 2015) started on the mound for Chicago and threw a fastball ranging between 85-89 mph and topping at 90 mph. He also flashed potential for a late-breaking slider that topped at 78 mph. Cyrillo Watson (Cudahy, WI, 2016) threw 2 shutout innings of relief with a pair of strikeouts. His fastball ranged between 85-88 mph. He also showed an excellent slider that topped at 75 mph.
Homeplate Chilidogs hold on to early lead

The Homeplate Chilidogs got on the board in the top of the first inning and didn't look back, holding on to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team, 3-2 in the WWBA World Championship's first tournament game.

Perfect Game All-American Tristin English (Williamson, GA, 2015) got the scoring started when he connected for a line drive single to right field to score fellow PG All-American Cornelius Randolph (Griffin, GA, 2015). Carter Perkins (McDonough, GA, 2015) drove in the team's third run with a line drive single in the third inning. Jabari Richards (Fayetteville, GA, 2015) paced the offense with a pair of singles and a run scored.

The Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team attempted a comeback in the bottom of the third when they scored a pair of runs. Tripp Aversa (Fountain Valley, CA, 2015) drove in the team's first run with a line drive single to center field. Jeremy Pena (Providence, RI, 2015) connected for the game's lone extra-base hit with a double to left field in the first inning.

Adam Goodman (Fayetteville, GA, 2015) and Jordan Schmits (Sharpsburg, GA, 2015) combined for the seven inning effort. Goodman tossed 5 innings and gave up 5 hits and 2 runs (1 earned), while allowing no walks and striking out 4 in the win. Schmits tossed 2 perfect innings in relief to collect the save, tallying a strikeout. He attacked hitters with a fastball that sat between 87-89 mph and showed a good 12/6 curveball.

Blake Workman (Ramona, CA, 2015) started for the Blue Jays and tossed 3 innings while displaying a fastball that sat between 86-88 mph and topped at 90 mph. Robert Peace (Wrightwood, CA, 2015) tossed 2 perfect innings of middle relief, striking out 3 while showing an 88-90 mph fastball. He also tossed a plus changeup that topped at 82 mph.
Syracuse defeats Blaze

The Syracuse Sports Zone defeated the DBacks Langley Blaze 8-0 in their exhibition game.  Bryant commit, Jimmy Titus (2016, East Catholic HS, CT), led the way for the Syracuse offense staying inside the ball well and showing a quick bat as he went 2-2 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Maine commit, Andrew Noviello (2015, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg HS, MA), added in a 1-2 performance showing a quick bat and good bat speed with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Virginia commit, Jack Weiller (2015, John Jay Cross River HS, NY), also impressed showing a short, compact swing and good extension as he went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and Griffin Dey (2015, Kennedy Catholic HS, NY), a Yale commit, went 2-2 with 1 run scored.  

Boston College commit, Thomas Lane (2015, Phillips Academy HS, NH), started and earned the win for Syracuse going 2 perfect innings and striking out 2 batters.  Lane featured an 84-88 mph fastball and mixed in a 77-82 mph changeup and a 77-78 mph slider.  

For the Blaze, Hayden Jaco went 1-2 with 1 stolen base.  
Davis powers Chandler World to W

Chandler World defeated Canada PG Gold 10-1 in their exhibition game.  Loyola Marymount commit, Devin Davis (2015, Valencia HS, CA), helped power the Chandler World offense displaying good bat speed as he went 1-1 with a pinch hit solo home run.  Brandon Perez (2015, Mater Dei HS, CA), a USC commit, added in a 1-2 performance using a quiet hitting approach and a short, compact swing with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Penn State commit, Ryan Sloniger (2015, Punxsutawney Area HS, PA), also impressed using an aggressive approach and getting good extension as he went 1-2 with 2 RBI.  

Penn State commit, Eli Nabholz (2015, Pottsville Area HS, PA), started and earned the win for Chandler World throwing 1 perfect inning of work and recording 1 strikeout.  Nabholz featured an impressive 86-88 mph fastball and mixed in a 75-78 mph changeup and an 83 mph cutter.  

For Canada PG Gold, Troy Daring (2016, Heart Lake HS, ON) showed a quick bat going 2-2 and Luke Van Rycheghem (2016, Bridgeton HS, ON) went 1-3 with 1 run scored.  
Redskins top Marucci Elite

The Midland Redskins defeated Marucci Elite 2-0 in their exhibition game.  Miami (OH) commit, Nick Ernst (2015, La Salle HS, OH), started and earned the win for the Redskins tossing 3 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Ernst showed a long, loose arm action and an online delivery with his 84-87/89 mph fastball that had good life and sinking action.  He also effectively mixed in a 67-72 mph curveball that flashed potential.  

Vanderbilt commit, Tyler Duvall (2016, Lebanon HS, OH), and Georgia Tech commit, Chase Murray (2016, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy HS, OH), led the way for the Redskins' offense as they each went 1-2 with 1 RBI.  

For the Marucci Elite, Alex Webb (2015, Columbia Central HS, TN), an Alabama commit, showed a fluid stroke and made very hard contact as he went 1-3 at the plate.   He also showed good receiving skills behind the plate and an accurate arm.  

LSU commit, Brennan Breaux (2015, St Thomas More HS, LA), took the tough-luck-loss for Marucci tossing 3 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 batters.  Breaux showed an effortless arm action and a smooth delivery on the mound as he featured an 83-86/87 mph fastball and worked in a 77-80 mph changeup that flashed potential and a 71-72 mph curveball that showed good depth.  
Blue Jays win over Blaze

The Ontario Blue Jays defeated the DBacks Langley Blaze 2-1 in their exhibition game.  Liam Munshi (Our Lady of Mount Carmel HS, ON) started and earned the win for the Blue Jays tossing 4 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 4 batters with an impressive 75% strike percentage.  Munshi used a long arm action and featured a 78-81/82 mph fastball with armside run and a 67-73 mph curveball.  

Reese O'Farrell (2015, Notre Dame Catholic SS, ON) led the way for the Blue Jays' offense going 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Austin Ferguson (2015, St Thomas Aquinas Catholic SS) added in a 1-4 day at the plate with 1 double and Owen Jansen (2016, Iroquois Ridge HS, ON) went 1-4 with 2 RBI. 

For the Blaze, Austin Hoffman (2016, Alleghany HS, PA) went 1-3 with 1 double and Jeremi Longpre (2015, Yale Secondary HS, BC) went 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  
Warhawks edge Canada PG Gold

The Ohio Warhawks defeated Canada PG Gold 4-2 in their exhibition game.  Georgia State commit, Curtis Terry (2015, Archer HS, GA), helped power the Warhawks' offense showing a short, compact swing and good bat speed as he went 1-2 with a solo home run.  Auburn commit, Daino Deas (2015, Parkview HS, GA), added in a 1-2 performance with 1 triple and 1 run scored.  Tyler Schmidt (2015, Crosswell-Lexington HS, MI), a Marshall commit, also impressed showing good extension and plate coverage going 1-3 with 1 triple and 1 run scored.  

Arizona State commit, Peyton Culbertson (2015, Collierville HS, TN), earned the win out of the bullpen for the Warhawks tossing 1 perfect inning and recording 2 strikeouts.  Culbertson used a sharp downhill motion and showed a quick arm with his 86-88 mph fastball while mixing in a 73-79 mph slider and a 76-78 mph changeup.  

For Canada PG Gold, Lucas Parente (2017, Notre Dame Catholic SS, ON) showed a quiet hitting approach and good bat speed as he went 2-3 with 1 RBI.  

Ben Braun (2015, Georgetown District HS, ON) took the loss for Canada PG Gold, but showed well in 5 innings of work allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Braun's arm worked well and he was around the plate with his aggressive 73-77/78 mph fastball, 68-72 mph changeup that flashed potential, and a 60-64 mph curveball he featured as an outpitch.
