MYBA – Perfect Game T-Ball and Coach Pitch Rules
NOTE: RULES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATIONS PRIOR TO START OF TOURNAMENT

The Playing Rules for The 2026 Miami Youth Baseball Association (MYBA) – Perfect Game Tournaments are the same as the Perfect Game Baseball and followed by Official Major League Rules.  The Only Exceptions are those rules and regulations in this Special Section.
SPECIAL RULES FOR 5U T-Ball and 6U-7U-8U Coach Pitch
Section 1     PLAYING FIELD
Distance between the bases:
     5U T-Ball   55’
            6U, 7U, 8U Coach Pitch  &  9U Modified KP   60’
           6U, 7U, 8U Coach Pitch   30 Ft.

Section 2   REGULATION AND OFFICIAL GAME
3.   Time Limits
A)   All games (Except the Championship Game) will have a time limit.
Time limit for the 5U T-BALL, is one hour (1:00).
Time limit for the 6U, 7U & 8U COACH PITCH is one hour and twenty minutes (1:20).
        B) The clock will start as soon as the home team pitcher throws pitch to start the game.
C) The clock will stop for all player injuries, protest, and situations in which the umpires feel a team is intentionally trying to delay the game.

SECTION 3 5U T-Ball  6/7/8 COACH PITCH  SPECIAL RULES
DEFENSE -In the 5U T-Ball twelve (12) players play on defense, with a catcher and only five (5) INFIELDERS including the pitcher.. In the 6U Division eleven (11) players may play on defense, with a with a mandatory catcher, pitcher and five (5) Outfielders. In the 7U & 8U Coach Pitch ten (10) players may play on defense, with a mandatory catcher, pitcher, and four (4) Outfielders. Note: In Coach Pitch Divisions outfielders must be stationed on the outfield grass or a minimum of 30 feet beyond the base paths on larger fields.

BATTING ORDER In the 5U T-Ball, 6U, 7U & 8U Coach Pitch Divisions all players present MUST be listed and hit in the batting order. There shall be free defensive substitutions. If a Team has less players the other team may elect to hit the same number of players, and use the remaining as substitutes.
In the 5U T-Ball, 6U, 7U, and 8U Coach Pitch Division there is No Bunting, No Courtesy Runners and No Intentional Walks
In the 5U T-Ball, 6U, 7U & 8U Coach Pitch Division there is a 20 ft. radius in front of home plate, which is the dead ball area. All batted balls must travel beyond this line to be fair.

In the 5U T-Ball, 6U, 7U & 8U Coach Pitch Division once the ball is thrown into the pitcher’s circle area or when an infielder holds the ball while in the infield in fair territory (the infielder may not ask for time out while in the outfield grass area or beyond 30 feet of the base path in larger fields) and asks for “Time Out” by raising either arm. All runners must return to the nearest base. A chalk line will be used between the bases to aid the umpire in determining if a player advances / returns to a base once the ball is dead. If the runner is past this line with both feet, he may continue to that base. If he is not, he must return to the previous base. Note: When the last hitter of an inning hits, a play must be made on the hitter or a runner prior to Time Out being called. A play is either the outfielder throwing the ball to an infielder, and then the infielder can call time, or if in the infield, the infielder must throw to a base in an attempt to throw a runner out or attempt to make a play or unassisted out on a runner prior to calling time.
In the 7U & 8U Coach Pitch Division a batter shall receive a maximum of 5 pitches. If the batter fouls off the 5th pitch they will be entitled to only one more pitch. Three (3) strikes and the batter is out. In the 6U Coach Pitch Division a batter shall receive a maximum of 5 pitches. After the 5th pitch the player will be allowed to hit from a Batting Tee. In the 5U T-Ball a player shall receive 5 attempts to hit the ball off the Tee – The Coach may assist the batter on the fifth (5th) attempt. No Strike Outs (the at bat sends once the max number of pitches or attempts is reached) in the 5U T-Ball and 6U Division.
In the 5U T-Ball the inning is over once a Team scores four (4) runs or gets three (3) outs. This is for all innings played.
In the 6U Coach Pitch the inning is over once a team scores five (5) or gets three (3) outs. In the 7U, 8U Coach Pitch Division the inning is over once a team gets three (3) or the offense scores seven (7) runs. This is for all innings played.
In the 6U, 7U & 8U Coach Pitch Division all pitches must be overhand

In the 5U T-Ball, 6U, 7U & 8U Coach Pitch Divisions base runners MAY NOT leave the base until the ball is hit (Contact). One warning per team per inning. After a warning the runner is out, and the ball is dead. Defensive Team may elect the result of the play in both the warning and penalty situation (if in the warning and defense elects the result of the play – then there would not be a warning).
In the 5U T-Ball, 6U, 7U and 8U Coach Pitch Divisions – The Catcher and Pitcher MUST wear a mask – If a Pitcher does not have a mask – he/she may not play the position of Pitcher and must play in the Outfield.
In the 6U, 7U and 8U Coach Pitch Division a team while on Defense may only call time-out (limited to 30 seconds in duration) three (3) times per game, and only once (1) per inning. The Offense may only ask for one (1) time-out per inning, and limited to 30 seconds in duration. If in the UMPIRES’ judgment a team is intentionally delaying a game he may stop the game clock.
In 5U T-Ball and All the Coach Pitch Divisions – Only two coaches are allowed out on the field on Defense. One in LF and one in RF, and in Coach Pitch Divisions they must be in foul territory. In 5U T-ball a third is allowed on the 1st base side of the in-field behind the Pitcher, and the outfield coaches must remain behind the LF and RF respectively.
In 5U T Ball a team may play with 8 Players with no automatic out. Less than 8 Players it is a forfeit.
Pitching distance:
A regulation game consist of Four (4) innings in5U T-Ball, Six (6) Innings in 6U, 7U, 8U Coach Pitch The 5U T-Ball and 6U Coach Pitch will not have a RUN RULE. The 7U-8U Coach Pitch Division will have a Run Rule of 8 after 5 innings or when a team is mathematically eliminated after 3 innings of play.
Official Game - A game is Official if it is suspended for any reason after 1 ½ or 2 innings have been played in the 5U T-Ball, or 2 ½ or 3 innings have been played 6U, 7U, 8U Coach Pitch

Perfect Game Youth Pitching Rules

Youth Pitching Regulations:

The MLB balk rule will be enforced. When a balk is called it is NOT a dead ball. Also, in the windup position, a pitcher is permitted to have his “free” foot on the rubber, in front of the rubber, behind the rubber, or off to the side of the rubber.

  • Daily Limits
    • 7U-8U: Daily max is 15 outs OR 50 pitches.
    • 9U-10U: Daily max is 18 outs OR 75 pitches.
    • 11U-12U: Daily max is 18 outs OR 85 pitches.
    • 13U-14U: Daily max is 21 outs OR 95 pitches.

The pitcher may finish the batter upon reaching the daily pitch count limit. I.E. A 13U pitcher begins the batter at 94 pitches he may finish the current hitter then must be removed from the game.

  • Event Limits
    • 7U-14U: Each Player is allowed 24 outs over a 3-day period.
    • If a player records more than 9 outs in a day, they are required 2 days rest.
    • 100 Pitch maximum over 2, 3 or 4 day events
    • 140 Pitch maximum over 5+ day events
    • Players can pitch in more than one game in a day if they do not exceed daily limits.

The pitcher may finish the batter upon reaching the event pitch count limit. I.E. A 13U pitcher begins the batter at 99 pitches he may finish the current hitter then must be removed from the game.

Once a player has been removed from pitching they may not return to the mound in the same game.

No pitcher shall appear in a game as a pitcher for three consecutive days, regardless of pitch counts. No pitcher shall appear in three games in the same day, regardless of pitch counts.

The definition to be utilized for the purpose of the pitching restrictions for end of a day shall be any time of night or day that the facility is closed and teams have a break in playing prior to the next days games.

Pitchers who record outs or pitch in a game that is forfeited will still have those outs/pitches counted toward their limitations.

Pitching Violations:

The pitcher must be replaced on the mound immediately upon notice of a violation, not a forfeit.
