Scorpions South Wins State Title with Walk Off

Scorpions South Underclass rallied from a 3-0 deficit, forced extra innings, and a single from Damon Irivis (2016, Lake Wales HS, FL) in the bottom of the ninth gave the team the 16U Florida State Championship with a 4-3 victory over Xtreme Baseball Navy.
Corey Brightman (2016, Charlotte HS, FL) and Sendel Jean (2016, Palm Beach Gardens HS, FL) drove in one run each for the Scorpions. Jean had three hits, Irivis recorded two singles, and Sean Shearman (2016, Fort Myers HS, FL) clubbed a single and a triple. Josh Jano (2017, McKeel Academy, FL) added a double and a run scored in the Championship victory.
Caleb Jackson (2016, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL) pitched the ninth inning, and earned the State Championship victory. He allowed one hit, and his fastball topped out at 81 mph.
Giovany Lorenzo (2017, Cypress Lake HS, FL) drove in a run for Xtreme, and the team’s runs were scored by Jordan Lala (2018, Tampa Catholic HS, FL), Lorenzo, and Tyler Shuck (2017, Canterbury School, FL). Lala added a double in the extra inning loss.

Scorpions South Underclass scored the winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning, and advanced to the State Championship Game with a 4-3 victory over FTB Sarasota on Wednesday.
Sean Shearman (2016, Fort Myers HS, FL) drove in two runs and drilled a home run to lead the offense for the Scorpions. Sendel Jean (2016, Palm Beach Gardens HS, FL) and Jordan Austin (2016, Sebring HS, FL) drove in one run each, while Caleb Jackson (2016, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL) clubbed a double with two runs scored in the victory.
Trey Pearce (2016, Gulf Coast HS, FL) was the winning pitcher for the Scorpions, as he allowed two earned runs with seven strikeouts over five innings. His fastball topped out at 81 mph.
Michael Richey (2016, Bishop Verot HS, FL) drove in a run for FTB Sarasota, and recorded two hits on the game. The three runs were scored by Justin Fischer (2016, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL), Edgar Brito (2017, Lake Nona HS, FL), and Cole Pencosky (2016, Braden River HS, FL).

Xtreme Baseball Navy scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the semifinal game with FTB Max Bats to extra innings, and a Jack Mora (2016, Fort Myers HS, FL) single scored Christian Menendez (2016, Bishop Verot HS, FL) to send Xtreme Baseball to the State Championship Game with a 2-1 victory.
Jordan Lala (2018, Tampa Catholic HS, FL) added a double in the victory, while Trevor Cramer (2016, Bishop Verot HS, FL) recorded a single. Tyler Shuck (2017, Canterbury School, FL) also scored a run for Xtreme Baseball Navy.
Gibson Bittner (2016, North Port HS, FL) allowed just two hits over three innings, and earned the win for Xtreme Baseball. His fastball topped out at 75 mph.
Siilas Grinstead (2016, Father Lopez HS, FL) drove in one run for FTB Max Bats, and the sole run was scored by Clayton Jeffries (2015, George W. Jenkins HS, FL). Scorpions Orlando 2016 Purple plated eight runs in the fifth to beat Beyel Brothers Bulldogs. Brock Howard (2016, Harmony, FL) drove in two runs with a single. Gabe Scavone (2016, Bishop Moore, FL) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Jared Cenal (2016, Tampa Catholic, FL) threw five innings and allowed five hits. He also fanned three and walked one. His heater was in the mid 80's and touched 86 mph.
Miami recruit, Mason Studstill (2016, Cocoa, FL) started and lasted 4 1/3 innings. He struck out while throwing an impressive mid 80's fastball that touched 90 mph.
Keller shines in win

Casey Keller (2016, Berkeley Prep, FL) allowed just two hits in South Tampa Prospects 1-0 win over Elite Squad 16U Slugger. In seven innings, he struck out six and did not walk a batter. His heater was recorded in the low 80's and touched 84 mph. Matthew Steckel (2016, Robinson, FL) had the Prospects only hit in the win.
Jagger McCoy (2016, Boca Raton, FL) threw seven quality innings for the Sluggers but unfortunately got the loss. He k'ed seven while allowing two walks and a hit in seven innings of work. He threw his fastball between 77-79 mph and reached 81 mph.

His high 70's fastball reached 82 mph and threw a good curveball to keep the batters off balance. Dylan Droke (2017, Oviedo, FL) singled in two runs. Isaiah Arana (2015, Timber Creek, FL) pitched in with a single and and RBI.
Shane Winright threw for Florida. In five innings, he fanned three and allowed two hits. His high 70's heater topped out at 83 mph. Both Paul Mcintosh (2016, Royal Palm Beach, FL) hit two singles in the loss. Travis Jacklin (2015, Royal Palm Beach, FL) went 2 for 4 with a double.

His heater was between 78-81 mph and touched 82. Trevor Cramer (2016, Bishop Verot, FL) led the offense with a double that scored two runs. Alejandro Olivert (2016, Lehigh Senior, FL) also doubled in the win.

Kobe Lopez (2016, Colonial, FL) pitched in with two singles and two RBI's. Josh Bonynge (2016, Cardinal Mooney, FL) went 2 for 3 with a double. Clayton Jeffries (2015, George W. Jenkins, FL) hit two singles in the win. Bonynge also started for the Bats. In two innings, he fanned one and allowed a hit. His fastball was between 83-85 mph, Kyle Wiseman (2016, Eustis, FL) came in next and threw four solid innings. He struck out three and allowed three walks. He threw his heater in the low 80's and touched 83 mph.

Xtreme Baseball Navy scored four runs in the first inning, and advanced to the semifinals with a 13-0 victory over Scorpions Orlando 2016 Purple on Wednesday.
Trevor Cramer (2016, Bishop Verot HS, FL) and Jack Mora (2016, Fort Myers HS, FL) drove in two runs each to lead the Xtreme offense. Alec Babb (2017, Canterbury School, FL) added two hits, two runs scored, and one run batted in. Tyler Shuck (2017, Canterbury School, FL), Christian Menendez (2016, Bishop Verot HS, FL), and Christian Profitt (2017, Ida Baker HS, FL) each scored two runs in the victory.
Daniel Simons (2017, Avon Park HS, FL) tossed all six innings for Xtreme Baseball, striking out three hitters with no runs allowed. His fastball topped out at 80 mph.

FTB Sarasota rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the ninth inning, scoring three runs on a walk-off three-run triple from Michael Richey (2016, Bishop Verot HS, FL) to advance to the semifinals with a 3-2 win over South Tampa Prospects.
Richey’s triple scored Justin Fischer (2016, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL), Edgar Brito (2017, Lake Nona HS, FL), and Cole Pencosky (2016, Braden River HS, FL). Tyler Mattes (2016, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL) added a double in the quarterfinal victory for FTB Sarasota.
Fischer earned the win for FTB Sarasota, allowing one hit over 1.1 innings with one strikeout. His fastball topped out at 82 mph.

The BPA 16U White scored early and often, putting up two runs in both the first and third inning as they cruised to a 9-1 win over the PTI Maniacs, holding the Maniac offense to only one hit. The BPA offense knocked in nine hits from seven different players with Setphen Morgioni (2016, Winter Springs HS, FL) leading the way offensively with a perfect 2-2 game at the plate while picking up an RBI and getting caught stealing.
Conor McNamara (2016, Oviedo HS, FL) picked up the win for BPA for his four and a third innings on the mound to start out the game. McNamara threw 72 pitches and allowed one hit and one earned run while walking four and striking out one, showing control all around the plate with all his pitches and a long arm circle in the back with a fastball averaging 74 mph and topping out at 79 mph.

FTB Sarasota scored in the 1st inning and held on the rest of the way to defeat O-City Orioles 16U 9-4 to remain undefeated. The Orioles tried to come back from an 8-0 deficit but fell short.

Jaryd Clary (2016, Lemon Bay HS, FL) tossed a complete game victory for the Scorpions. In his 7 innings of work, he struck out 4 on just 3 hits and no runs allowed while throwing a lot of strikes with a balanced delivery.

A 6-run outburst in the bottom of the 5th inning for Scorpions Jacksonville Underclass was enough to give them a shortened-game 10-4 victory over Elite Squad 16U TPX to remain undefeated. After Elite Squad tied the game up 4-4 in the top of the 5th inning, the Scorpions rallied for 6 in the bottom of the inning which ended the game.
Skinner and Trey Piesco (2016, St Joseph Academy, FL) led the offensive charge for the Scorpions. Skinner ended the day 2-2 with 2 singles, 2 RBI, 2 runs, and a walk drawn at the plate. Piesco finished the day 1-2 with an RBI, 2 runs scored, and a walk drawn.

Mosteel Baseball drubs PBA White, 9-1. Ricardo Jimenez (Barbara Goleman, Hialeah Gardens, FL 2016) went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Mosteel Baseball. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning. PBA White's lone run of the ballgame came in the third inning on a fielder's choice.
Alejandro Castro (Barbara Goleman, Hialeah Gardens, FL 2016) struck out ten, paving the way for a Mosteel Baseball win. Castro allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk over 5 2/3 innings. The lead stayed with Boca Thunder Baseball 16U after the first, when it scored four runs on two run single by Joseph Graffeo.
Matthew Urabanek (Pope John Paul II, Boca Raton, FL 2016) got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over six innings with striking out four, walked one and gave up six hits. Sousa and Zachary Grabbe (2017, Hagerty HS, FL) added two hits each, with each player recording a double. Paul Mcintosh, (2016, Dade Christian, FL) and Myles McKisic, (2016, American Heritage, FL) each had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Florida Surge offense. Both players each hit a double and McKisic also scored two runs. John David Phillips, (2016, IMG Academy, FL) and Zach Odell, (2016, Royal Palm Beach, FL) each had three singles, one RBI and a run scored to contribute offensively. The O-City Orioles 16U escaped with a narrow victory in their first game of the 16U PG Florida State Championship by beating the All American Prospects 4-2.

He used a fastball that averaged between 78-82 mph and maxed out at 85 mph. Matthew Portis, (2015, Sebring, FL) pitched a complete game, three hit shutout to lead the Beyel Brothers Bulldogs to a 8-0 win over Broward Elite. Portis tossed five innings and struck out nine batters. He showed good command with his pitches and was aggressive with fastball, which averaged between 77-79 mph and maxed out at 82 mph.
The Bulldogs offense came from Dylan Owens, (2016, Cocoa, FL) who had two hits in three trips to the plate, had three RBIs and a run scored. Michael Pineda, (2016, River Ridge, FL) also had a nice game offensively, going 1-2 with a two-RBI single.

North Florida Storm 16U Black used a combined no-hitter from 2016 Kevin Stiles (Stanton College Prep, FL) and 2017 Jonathan Crowe (Paxon, FL) to shut out the South Florida Huskies 16U 10-0 this afternoon. Stiles threw 4 innings, struck out 5 batters and peaked his fastball at 83mph. He showed good command, good follow through and throws easy. Crowe pitched 1 inning and struck out 2 batters.
