White vs. Royal
6/21/2017
Christopher Williams (2018 LHP, Woodstock, GA) worked from a cross body delivery and threw from mostly a lower three-quarter arm slot. He gets good angle on the fastball and sat from 86-89 mph. Williams mixed in a short slider that had late break which kept hitters of the same handedness off balance.
Jonathan Childress (2018 LHP, Forney, TX) worked well on the mound with a crossfire delivery and a high three-quarter arm slot. Childress reached as high as 93 mph on the mound and has some deception as well. He also mixed in a short, deceptive slider that had late break.
Steven Colon (2018 RHP, Nokomis, FL) struck out five of his six batters in a dominant outing. Colon had a fastball that worked from 86-91 mph and also showed feel for a curveball. The breaking ball worked at 76 mph and showed 12/6 shape.
Cabera Weaver (2018 OF, Decatur, GA) showed excellent tools all around including his speed and athlticism. He stole multiple bases throughout the game and showed his ability to control the barrel by lacing a line drive that he extended into a double.
Jake Moberg (2018 SS, Murrieta, CA) had a couple of hard hit baseballs during the game today which included a hard hit line drive for a single. Moberg showed fluidity in his hands and was adept at getting the barrel of the bat onto the baseball. He also added a stolen base later in the game.
Red vs. Navy
6/21/2017
Nicholas Schnell (2018 OF, Indianapolis, IN) had a very loud day at the plate with two hard hits on the morning. Schnell launched an opposite field double that bounced off the base of the wall and later in the game added a hard hit single up the middle. He was also up to 91 mph on the mound.
John Rodriguez (2018 SS, Parkland, FL) again showed very smooth actions and advanced defense in the infield. Rodriguez made a play to his right sliding and then got up to make the throw. The play showcased his athletic ability and range as well as his soft, sure hands.
Max Dineen (2018 OF, Pennsville, NJ) displayed his excellent raw powe to all fields with a hard hit opposite field double. Dineen has shown outstanding barrel skills all week and he launched one over the right fielders head to bounce to the wall.
Benjamin Specht (2018 RHP, Fort Myers, FL) showed a power right arm with a very long arm action on the mound. Specht was up to 91 mph early on and had struck out five batters over two innings.
Dillon Nowicki (2018 RHP, Stoughton, WI) had a strong start on the mound that included a fastball that touched the low-90s early on. The arm action was loose and easy and he racked up three strikeouts in two innings.
White vs. Royals
6/20/2017
Lyon Richardson (2018 OF, Jensen Beach, FL) worked up to 93 mph and sat 90-93 mph during his outing. The pitch worked well to both sides of the plate and Richardson threw from a shorter arm action with an easy amount of effort. The curveball showed excellent depth and occasional sharp break.
Justin Jarvis (2018 RHP, Mooresville, NC) threw with a long arm action straight through the back and released from an over the top arm slot. Jarvis worked 90-93 mph with the fastball that flashed arm side run. He mixed in a soft curveball that added a nice secondary pitch to the repertoire.
Albert Hsiao (2018 C, San Jose, CA) crushed a loud home run over the monster in left field. Hsiao showed excellent feel for the barrel of the bat as well as raw power during his BP and he has performed exceptionally in game thus far.
Carter Raffield (2018 RHP, Cochran, GA) is the top remaining uncommitted arm in the 2018 class and worked 90-94 with his fastball. The arm action is long through the back and he generated good extension and plane on the fastball. He showed a feel for three pitches which included a hard changeup at 85 mph.
Michael Perez (2018 SS, Cerritos, CA) showed solid contact skills and a fluid barrel as he was able to pull a double down the left field line. The ball was hard hit and he showed strong athleticism as he scooted into second base standing up.
Jake Moberg (2018 SS, Murrieta, CA) put excellent raw power on display as he smoked a double high off the left field monster. He turned well on an inside fastball and got the barrel head out in front to generate a hard fly ball with plenty of carry to it.
Kristofer Armstrong (2018 MIF, Jupiter, FL) showed very interesting potential on the mound. He worked with a good rhythm and tempo to go along with a fastball in the low-90s with short arm side run. He extends well down the mound and also worked in a breaking ball in the mid-70s.
Red vs. Navy
6/20/2017
Alberto Gonzalez (2018 RHP, Laredo, TX), an uncommitted righthander out of Texas, ran his fastball up to 92 mph in his opening frame and worked rather comfortably in the low-90s. He featured a quick right arm and flashed both a slider and curveball for strikes.
Justin Olson (2018 OF, Colorado Springs, CO) got the barrel to the ball in his first at-bat and lined a hard single back up the middle on a fastball that registered 91 mph on the radar gun
Marcelo Perez (2018 RHP, Laredo, TX) displayed a very quick right arm which helped produce a fastball that bumped upwards of 93 mph and lived in the low-90s. Committed to Texas Christian, Perez also spun a breaking ball in the upper-70s though he worked primarily off his heater.
After performing well in the workout portion, shortstop and Florida International commit Kevin Vargas (2018 SS, Las Mareas de Salinas, PR) turned on a 91 mph fastball in his first at-bat and barreled a hard piece down the left field line.
Tyler Casagrande (2018 OF, Leesburg, VA) connected or a nice piece pack up the box, squaring up a low-90s fastball for a loud piece into left-center field.
Vanderbilt commit John Malcom (2018 1B, West Bloomfield, MI) also found the barrel in his first at-bat as he spun on an inner half fastball for a loud single down the line after showing his strength last night in batting practice.
Ian Bedell (2018 RHP, Davenport, IA) really impressed with his two innings on the mound as he worked rather comfortably in the 90-94 mph range with his fastball. With a quick arm Bedell was able to pound the ball down to the bottom of the zone mixed in a pair of breaking balls for strikes.
After impressing defensively with his footwork in the infield, South Alabama commit Lency Delgado (2018 SS, Miami, FL) connected for a hard barreled piece on a changeup, showing the ability to stay back and rip the pitch through the 6-hole.
Chase Costello (2018 RHP, Pompano Beach, FL), an uncommitted righthander, opened eyes at jetBlue Park with his two innings on the mound. He sat comfortable in the 90-93 mph range during those two innings and more than once ran the fastball back over the outer half for strikes while also mixing in a tight slider up to 81 mph.
Henry Davis (2018 C, Bedford, NY) has long been known for his big time arm strength behind the dish and today picked up a couple of bat knocks, working the middle and opposite parts of the field for a couple of base hits.
A primary shortstop, Texas Christian commit Mateo Gil (2018 SS, Keller, TX) jumped on the mound and ran his fastball up to 92 mph with life and command to either side with his fastball while mixing in two secondaries.
11-Navy vs. 12-Royal
6/20/2017
Franco Aleman (2018 RHP, Tampa, FL) started out the game for the Navy team and immediately lit up the radar gun. Despite being young for the grade, Aleman has a huge frame with long limbs and a very loose and whippy arm action. Aleman pounded the zone with a fastball that sat from 90-94 mph and projects for a ton of velocity.
Yeankarlos Lleras (2018 RHP, Carolina, PR) has a shorter arm circle with explosive arm speed and worked very quickly on the mound. The fastball sat from 90-93 mph and topped out at 94 mph. He delivers from a lower three-quarter arm slot that allows him to get good break on his slider.
Jacob Smith (2018 LHP, Calera, AL) showed good pitchability and a deceptive delivery on the mound. The Vanderbilt commit topped out at 90 mph and worked the fastball to all spots on the plate and the pitch showed occasional cutting life. He mixed in a curveball with big break to it and
Michael Perez (2018 SS, Cerritos, CA) made an outstanding play in the 4-3 hole during today's game. He made an incredibly smooth sliding play to nail the runner at first and showed off his twitch and range while doing so.
Bay Witcher (2018 RHP, Loganville, GA) worked in the upper-80s with his fastball and touched 91 mph early on in the game. Witcher has an extremely projectable frame and generates very good extension down the mound. The fastball shows occasional life to it and he mixed in a breaking ball in the upper-70s.
Tanner O'Tremba (2018 OF, Parker, CO) launched a double deep off the netting on the left centerfield wall. O'Tremba has incredible strength and generates good bat speed through the hitting zone. His raw strength and power makes him an intriguing follow, especially if he can continue to crush baseballs.
Lency Delgado (2018 SS, Miami, FL) has extremely soft hands in the infield and made a number of athletic plays while remaining balanced. He took a hard line drive on a short hop and immediately got it out of the glove to start a 4-6-3 double play.

9-Red vs. 10-White
6/20/2017
Luke Patzner, an Iowa commit, came out and ran his fastball up to 90 mph with his fastball and showed the ability to locate it to either side of the plate while mixing in a two-seamer in the mid-80s as well as both a slider and a changeup.
Ryan McCurry made a Top 10 type play in the top of the second inning for the White squad out in center field as he came racing in and made a diving play to rob a base hit and preserve a run. McCurry is currently uncommitted.
Lawrence Butler showed a nice, balanced swing from the left side in his first trip to the plate as he went with a running fastball on the outer half of the plate and lined the pitch over the shortstop for a nice piece. He is committed to West Virginia
Tyler Burchett toed the rubber for the White squad to open the game and ran his fastball up to 92 mph early in the game with some sinking life. He sports a long and projectable build and flashed a slider up to 81 mph early in the contest. He is committed to Kentucky.
A recent South Florida commit, righthander Justin Stewart punched out the side in his first inning of work as he sat in the 91-94 mph range with his heater. He continued to bumps 91 in the second inning while mixing in a 12-6 shaped curveball and pounded both sides of the plate with the fastball.
Ethan Smith (2018 RHP, Mount Juliet, TN) showed an interesting hesitation move with a leg lift that occasionally double pumped and threw off the timing of opposing hitters. Smith had a fastball that worked 90-93 mph and he showed a four pitch mix highlighted by his 83 mph slider.
Jared Poland (2018 2B, Indianapolis, IN) squared up two hits and showed strength and athleticism throughout the afternoon. He shortened up his swing and got the barrel onto the bat to drive the ball up the middle for a line drive single.
Kelvin Smith Jr (2018 SS, College Park, GA) had two hits during the game earlier today and followed up a strong round of batting practice with some barrel feel in game. Smith has strength through the point of contact and showed quality bat speed throughout his swings.
Seth Halvorsen (2018 SS, Plymouth, MN) worked from a short arm action and featured a fastball that sat from 90-94 mph throughout the outfing. Halvorsen was effective at pounding strikes in the lower third of the strike zone and also mixed in a breaking ball into his repertoire.
Batting Practice Highlights: Teams 9-12
6/20/2017
Max
Dineen (2018 OF, Pennsville, NJ) showed some good raw power with a home run
over the monster. Dineen showed quick hands and the ability to impact the ball
with strength well through the point of contact.
Justin Fields (2018 SS, Kennesaw, GA) is a touted quarterback prospect but has
some loud, raw tools at the plate. Fields has impressive raw bat speed with
power behind it. He stood slightly open at the plate and was looking to drive
the ball in the air.
Seth Halvorsen (2018 SS, Plymouth, MN) flashed high potential with the stick.
Halvorsen showed quality bat speed with a fluid stroke through the zone.
Flashed control of the barrel and the ability to square up the ball well out in
front.
Brandon Howlett (2018 3B, Lakeland, FL) has a very easy swing with fluidity and
looseness throughout. Howlett shows huge power and swings from a high hand set
and high back elbow. The swing is smooth when on time and Howlett impacts the
ball with tremendous strength.
Luca Tresh (2018 C, Safety Harbor, FL) has a wide base and is balanced
throughout. The swing is short and compact and he showed good feel for the
barrel of the bat. The raw power was very impressive as Tresh took three balls
out of the park and over the monster in left field.
John Malcom (2018 1B, West Bloomfield, MI) showed huge raw power at the plate with
excellent bat speed as well. Malcomb stands with a high hand set and high back
elbow. The hips fire well through the swing and was outstanding when he timed
balls up.
Robby Martin (2018 OF, Tampa, FL) stood slightly open with loose, quick hands
in the swing. He has a naturally lofted swing and showed the ability to drive
the ball well to all fields and showed occasional power to the pull side as
well.
Addison Barger (2018 SS, Thonotosassa, FL) showed high contact skills with the
ability to lace the ball to all fields. Barger has quick hands and gets some
hip torque through the swing. Barger's swing is fluid and he showed a knack for
controlling the barrel of the bat well.
Christopher Williams (2018 LHP, Woodstock, GA) had good rhythm at the plate with
a mechanically sound swing. He wags the bat into the swing but was on time
consistently with some lower half drive and drove the ball to all fields.
Kristofer Armstrong (2018 MIF, Jupiter, FL) has a repeatable swing with some
barrel feel from the right side of the plate. Armstrong showed quality bat
speed with a naturally lofted plane that generated backspin to the pull
side.
Lyon Richardson (2018 OF, Jensen Beach, FL) showed an extremely easy swing with
a loud barrel and consistent line drive contact. The balls jumped off the wall
to the pull side from the right side. Richardson's wing was very repeatable and
showed intriguing power potential.
Sawyer Chesley (2018 C, Laguna Beach, CA) displayed some of the loudest contact
of the night with excellent raw bat speed and big power. The swing was pretty
smooth overall with loose hands and fluidity throughout.
Jared Poland (2018 2B, Indianapolis, IN) stood with a high hand set and a high
back elbow. The swing was easy and compact with a simple trigger from the load
into the swing. Poland has excellent strength through the point of contact and
showed some raw power as well.
Kelvin Smith Jr (2018 SS, College Park, GA) took a very loud overall round with
hard contact on nearly every swing. Smith showed exemplary bat speed with a
naturally lofted swing plane. Smith stayed consistently on time and repeated
his swing well to wear out the pull side of the field with hard contact.
Cabera Weaver (2018 OF, Decatur, GA) worked with an incredibly loose swing and
excellent barrel control. He consistently drove the ball to the pull side of
the field and projects for power as he continues to add strength.
Lency Delgado (2018 SS, Miami, FL) had a very easy swing with a short, fluid
stroke through the hitting zone. Excellent projection on the frame with a
slightly open stance and was very impressive when on time.
Mateo Gil (2018 SS, Keller, TX) showed a balanced approach at the plate with a
strong gap-to-gap oriented swing. Gil made consistent line drive contact and
showed occasional leverage to the pull side.
Kevin Vargas (2018 SS, Las Mareas de Salinas, PR) showed excellent raw power
and a leveraged swing oriented for power to the pull side. Vargas showed
quality hand speed and consistently got the barrel of the bat out in front for
loud contact.
Erick Rivera (2018 OF, Salinas, PR) displayed a loud barrel to the pull side
and launched a home run during his round. All of the swings produced hard line
drives and hard pull contact with raw power.
Jayce Easley (2018 SS, Glendale, AZ) is a switch-hitter with a sound,
contact-oriented approach from both sides. The swing is short through the zone
and he shoed the ability to control the barrel in order to hit line drives to
all fields.
Jonathan Alonso (2018 1B, Clearwater, FL) had a crisp swing that produced loud
contact off the barrel. Alonso showed leverage in his swing with a lofted
swing. He looked to drive the ball hard into the air and often succeeded in
doing so.
Albert Hsiao (2018 C, San Jose, CA) flashed high level hitting tools with the
ability to impact the ball hard out in front. Hsiao was good pulling the ball
and showed some barrel whip through the zone.
Michael Perez (2018 SS, Cerritos, CA) swings with intent to drive the ball and
the swing was pretty fluid through the hitting zone. Hit from a high hand set
and high back elbow with the ability to leverage the ball and flashed big raw
power to the pull side of the field.
Orange/Maroon vs. Purple/Black
6/19/2017
Max Alba (2018 RHP, Franklin, WI) is immensely projectable and athletic on the mound. Alba has a clean arm with a very low effort level. Alba worked 88-91 mph with the fastball and projects very well for added velocity in the near future.
Giovanni DiGiacomo (2018 OF, Naples, FL) is extremely athletic and made a number of impressive catches while in centerfield. Turning routine tun times in the 4.0-4.1 second range from the left side, DiGiacomo made a diving catch running in toward the infield.
Harold (Matthew) Dickey (2018 RHP, Tallahassee, FL) showed quality arm speed on the mound and pounded the strike zone. The fastball worked 89-91 mph and showed quality action down and to the arm side. Dickey mixed in a curveball with late breaking action.
Alec Sanchez (2018 2B, Jacksonville, FL) launched a double over the head of the rightfielder. Sanchez has made consistent hard contact with the barrel of the bat and has shown the ability to go to all fields during the showcase.
Nicholas Northcut (2018 3B, Mason, OH) continued his hot streak at PG National with a loud double high off the left field wall.
Stephen Pelli (2018 RHP, Arnold, MD) worked 91-93 mph and showed feel for three pitches during his outing. He threw a big breaking curveball and a changeup with occasional downward action that came with replicated arm action and speed.
Christian Scott (2018 RHP, Parkland, FL) had a quality showing on the mound as he worked with a 90-94 fastball. Scott has a tall and lanky build with a long arm action through the back. The fastball showed occasional run to the arm side and the changeup had similar arm action and speed.
Patrick Wicklander (2018 LHP, San Jose, CA) showed impressive pitchability with a strong two pitch mix. The fastball topped out at 90 mph and he was able to spot the pitch all around the strike zone. The breaking ball was effective both at being thrown for strikes and enducing swings and misses.
Hudson Haskin (2018 OF, Bronxville, NY) displayed solid overall barrel skills at the plate. Haskin laced a hard hit line drive single and showed solid athleticism with a stolen base later in the game.

6/19/2017
Braxton
Ashcraft (2018 RHP, Waco, TX) had a great start as he showed outstanding
pitchability and a filthy repertoire. The fastball sat from 89-92 mph and
showed outstanding life with sink and dive down and to the arm side. He mixed
in multiple breaking balls which included a short slider with tilt.
David Luethje (2018 RHP, Vero Beach, FL) worked 92-94 mph in his first inning
and got some downhill plane on the pitches. The arm action is loose and easy
and Luethje got excellent extension toward the plate and flashed an effective
changeup.
Levi Kelly (2018 RHP, Cape Coral, FL) worked 92-95 mph with his fastball. He was able to work the fastball by hitters and also showed his slider that was effective low in the zone for swings and misses.
Miko Rodriguez (2018 OF, Ada, MI) has multiple hits today and showed a knack for getting the barrel of the ball on the bat. Rodriguez showed the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields with a line drive approach in the batter's box.
Luke Leisenring (2018 C, Golden, CO) is tall and projectable with present power and more to come as he continues to fill out. Leisenring has multiple hits in today's game and shows a naturally lofted swing plane and created hard line drives consistently.
Xavier Valentin (2018 C, Manati, PR) showed good raw power and the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Valentin launched an opposite field triple that bounced off the monster in left centerfield.
5-Black vs. 6-Maroon
6/19/2017
Jack Perkins (2018 RHP, Kokomo, IN) showed high velocity this morning working in the 90-93 mph range. Perkins' slider flashed high potential and his arm travels very quickly through the arm circle.
Ethan Hankins (2018 RHP, Cumming, GA) has a very easy effort level and delivery on the mound. Hankins has a very quick, clean arm and worked 92-95 mph while topping out at 96 mph. He repeats his delivery well and showed a feel for three pitches.
Tim Borden (2018 SS, Sellersburg, IN) laced a double down the pull side line and knocked in a run. Borden showed a naturally lofted swing with quick hands to get the barrel quickly through the zone. He also stole a base and had the aggressiveness to advance to third on the ensuing past ball.
Hueston Morrill (2018 SS, Live Oak, FL) showed excellent athleticism and feel to hit with a triple down the line to the opposite field. Morrill went with the pitch and got the barrel of the bat on the pitch and has consistently shown interesting hitting tools.
Kendrick Calilao (2018 OF, Kissimmee, FL) made an outstanding catch in left field. Calilao got a great jump on the ball and accelerated fully into an extended dive. Calilao also shows quick hands at the plate.
Parker Meadows (2018 OF, Grayson, GA) laced a double to the opposite fields to show off his loose hands and ability to impact the ball hard on the barrel. Meadows is also an excellent runner and posted a 4.38 second time to first base on the turn from the left side.
Justin Wrobleski (2018 LHP, Canton, GA) worked a fastball that sat 89-92 mph and showed occasional life to the arm side. Wrobleski throws from a very comfortable and easy delivery with a mostly clean arm action. The Clemson commit flashed a slider with two-plane action.
Ryan Wimbush (2018 RHP, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) showed a collection of interesting pitching tools on the mound. He threw from an over the top arm slot and worked 87-89 mph with the fastball that had tremendous cut to it. He showed three pitches including a 12/6 curveball and a changeup.
Orange vs. Purple
6/18/2017
Slade Cecconi (2018 RHP, Oviedo, FL)opened the game by sitting 95-96 mph with his fastball and showed the ability to work to both sides of the plate while showing late life. He also flashed a sharp, tight slider up to 85 mph which he used as his go-to secondary pitch.
A Kent State commit, lefthander Ryan Kircher (2018 LHP, Pittsburgh, PA) ran his fastball up to 92 mph early in the contest before settling in the 87-91 mph range. He showed a quick arm and was able to generate angle on his pitcher while showing a feel for both of his secondaries.
There’s no doubting Xavier Edwards (2018 SS, Wellington, FL) ability on the diamond and he continued to perform in his first at-bat with a double to the opposite field on a slider, showing barrel skills from the left side of the plate before singling again through the 6-hole.
Emilio Rosas (2018 SS, Yorba Linda, CA) showed very well in his first at-bat of the game, going with a 95 mph fastball down and away and shot the pitch into the right-center field gap for a double, showing hustle out of the box.
After putting on a show last night with his righthanded swing, Vanderbilt commit Nicholas Northcut (2018 3B, Mason, OH) showed his athleticism at the hot corner with quick and balanced footwork while showing a strong throwing arm across the diamond.
Grayson Rodriguez (2018 1B, Nacogdoches, TX) is a presence on the mound and shows the arm strength and athleticism on the mound to throw harder in the future. Up to 92 mph with his fastball, the Texas A&M commit was able to generate the velocity with relative low effort while spinning a slider in the low-80s.
Wade Beasley (2018 RHP, Horatio, AR), an Arkansas commit, impressed with his arm strength on the mound as he ran his fastball up to 94 mph early in the contest. He continued to work in the upper-80s/low-90s and flashed a sharp curveball up 81.
Though a primary third baseman, Florida commit Roberto Pena (2018 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL) commit impressed on the mound as he ran his fastball up to 93 mph in his lone innings with a clean and loose arm stroke.
Another primary bat according to the program, Angel Tiburcio (2018 1B, Wellington, FL) was up to 92 mph and showed a quick and compact stroke through the back while showing a solid slider down in the zone.

As has become the norm, Notre Dame commit Jack Alexander (2018 C, Kennesaw, GA) found the barrel once again in his final at-bat as he squared up a low-90s fastball for a single through the six-hole.
5-Black vs. 6-Maroon
6/18/2017
Kumar Rocker (2018 RHP, Watkinsville, GA) was electric to start the game working 95-98 mph. He showed four pitches which included a curveball, slider, and changeup. Rocker mixed his pitches well and the fastball showed occasional riding life to it.
Chance Denson (2018 RHP, Collinsville, MS) was also impressive on the mound working 88-94 mph for his outing. Denson has a long arm action and was 91-94 mph during the first inning.
Will Banfield (2018 C, Lawrenceville, GA) launched a high fastball to the opposite field gap for a double. Banfield showed solid barrel control and used some of his raw power that he showed off during BP.
Ryder Green (2018 OF, Knoxville, TN) launched a triple deep off the wall in left centerfield. Green is an impressive athlete and displayed his excellent raw power during the game today.
Bo Blessie (2018 RHP, Midland, TX) is a very projectable and high ceiling pitcher. Blessie has a very long and loose arm through the back and generates decent extension down the mound. He worked 90-94 mph early on with a breaking ball that had a high spin rate of around 2600 rpm.
Jonathan Gates (2018 LHP, Brooksville, FL) is a long and lanky lefty with three pitches for strikes. He worked well against batters of the same handedness with a high gather. The fastball worked 90-92 mph and he showed a short slider and changeup with fade.
Matthew Wyatt Beddow (2018 RHP, Camp Hill, PA) has a compact and balanced delivery with a strong fastball that worked 90-92 mph. He mixed in a 12/6 curveball that showed big depth and did a good job at inducing ground ball contact.
Makenzie Stills (2018 RHP, Fayetteville, GA) showed very good arm speed on the mound and worked 90-92 mph with his fastball. The pitch showed occasional run to the arm side and the slider flashed high upside at 83 with occasional two-plane movement.
4-Green vs. 2-Royal
6/18/2017
Blake Burzell (2018 RHP, Laguna Beach, CA) worked 90-94 mph with his fastball and had a quick arm. The arm action was long and loose and he attacked hitters with his high velocity. Burzell also showed multiple breaking balls on the day.
Miguel Lavin (2018 OF, Lake Worth, FL) has a strong frame and laced a hard line drive over the head of the centerfielder. Lavin stayed back on the ball and showed his ability to impact the ball through the point of contact with strength for a triple.
Ryan Cusick (2018 RHP, Sudbury, MA) worked 90-92 mph early on in the game and topped out at 93 mph. The fastball showed occasional arm side run and he completed a three-pitch repertoire with a hard changeup at 85 mph and a slider.
Dennis Boatman (2018 RHP, Roseville, CA) worked very efficiently and featured a fastball that was up to 90 mph. Boatman is very lanky and projectable with a pretty loose arm action and mixed in a curveball at 81 mph that flashed sharpness down in the zone.
Isaiah Thomas (2018 OF, North Palm Beach, FL) showed off a compact swing with quick hands through the hitting zone. Thomas is a very fast runner, 4.44 to first on a turn from the right side, and laced an opposite field single on a line drive.
Ben Harris (2018 LHP, Alpharetta, GA) has a very compact and easy delivery and worked his fastball from 89-91 mph. The Virginia commit showed a three-pitch mix highlighted by a curveball with 1/7 shape and occasional tight break.

Anthony Seigler (2018 C, Cartersville, GA) threw with both hands and was impressive from both. Seigler was up to 87 mph from the left side and worked in a quality changeup and then sat 90 mph from the right side.
1-Navy vs. 3-Gold
6/18/2017
Mitchell Parker (2018 LHP, Albuquerque, NM) threw from an over the top arm slot and had a very long arm action. Parker generates good plane on the fastball and showed the ability to manipulate the pitch to get cut on it. The New Mexico commit mixed in a soft breaking ball as well.
Jordan Groshans (2018 SS, Magnolia, TX) has continued his hot hitting with a massive home run over the wall in left field. The excellent bat speed and raw power has played extremely well thus far and he wore out the left field wall during BP.
Gunnar Hoglund (2018 RHP, Hudson, FL) was effective at throwing strikes and getting a ton of swings and misses on the fastball. The pitch sat 89-92 and he used a quick and compact delivery.
Carter Stewart (2018 RHP, Melbourne, FL) showed one of the best curveballs of the day and the pitch was up to 82 mph with incredible depth and sharpness. The Mississippi State commit is very long with a loose, clean arm and worked 90-92 with his fastball.
Garrett Wade (2018 LHP, Hartselle, AL) was up to 91 mph early on and threw from a lower three-quarter slot and created good angle on the fastball. Wade had a short slider that he used to bury low in the zone to induce swings and misses.
Alek Thomas (2018 OF, Chicago, IL) had two singles during the game today which included a left-on-left hard hit single up the middle. Thomas recorded a 6.63 60-yard dash and is an outstanding athlete in the outfield as he ranges well to both sides.
Jeremiah Jackson (2018 SS, Mobile, AL) had two hits to the opposite field today. Jackson handles the barrel very well and showed the ability to go with pitches to the opposite field. The Mississippi State commit is a quality athlete as well and had a stolen base to show for it.
Batting Practice Highlights: Orange and Purple
6/17/2017
Christopher Willis (2018 C, Ruston, LA) has a very long 6-4/185 frame that really projects and a nice and loose left handed swing with lots of leverage and bat speed. He showed big power to the middle of the field.
Patrick Winkel (2018 C, Orange, CT) is another left handed hitting catcher with a very interesting and powerful swing. He has an ideal swing plane for a power hitter and already has plenty of strength.
Nicholas Northcut (2018 3B, Mason, OH) took one of the most impressive BP's of the day, absolutely wailing on balls with a powerful right handed swing. If he can take that approach into games successfully, watch out.
Emilio Rosas (2018 SS, Yorba Linda, CA) has a loose and young 6-1/175 build that projects well and has long and loose right handed swing that has added notable bat speed and extension over the last year.
Joe Gray Jr (2018 OF, Hattiesburg, MS) has some of the easiest bat speed you will see and it's just going to keep improving as he fills out his long and very athletic build.
Batting Practice Highlights: Black and Maroon
6/17/2017
Will Banfield (2018 C, Lawrenceville, GA) has shown his raw strength and quick hands many times in BP sessions in the past and did so convincingly again on Saturday evening. He's a rare catcher who has both top level defensive skills and offensive tools.
Jack Herman (2018 OF, Berlin, NJ) was timed up immediately with a loose and extended right handed swing that was very consistent with hard line drives to left centerfield. He is on the Navy team but hit with the Black team.
Bryce Bush (2018 3B, Birmingham, MI) hits from a somewhat still low hand start but creates serious barrel whip once he gets his hands moving and showed big pull power when he was timed up.
Isaiah Byars (2018 SS, Stone Mountain, GA) fit the profile of the professional hitter after showing a very short and direct right handed swing that was extremely repeatable and equally effective, along with the ability to work the ball around the field with authority.
Tanner Green (2018 OF, Bishop, GA) has a simple left handed swing approach with few variables and at 6-3/205, plenty of strength to drive the ball hard, especially to the middle of the field.
Anthony Herron (2018 1B, Chicago, IL) is a big young man at 6-2/235 and has learned early the power that is in his big and quick hips. He launched some absolute monster blasts out of the stadium, driven by the torque from his lower half turn.
Jarred Kelenic (2018 OF, Waukesha, WI) makes many aspects of the game look deceptively easy and one of them is hitting the ball hard. He took an under control round with hard contact around the field while still showing his big plus power at times.
Parker Meadows (2018 OF, Grayson, GA) is still growing into his very athletic 6-4/195 build but he already features very fast hands and lots of quick twitch ability that is just going to get better as he gets stronger.
Zach Goberville (2018 3B, Lighthouse Point, FL) has a deceptively easy left handed swing that didn't look like it had the lift to drive it out of the spacious right field at Fenway South but he did it easily and has plenty of room to get stronger.
Cory Acton (2018 3B, Fort Lauderdale, FL) has some of the quickest hands in the 2018 class and has a balanced and short swing that will enable him to hit for a very high average with present gap power and more to come.
Blaze Alexander (2018 SS, Cape Coral, FL) has surprising bat speed for a 6-0/160 middle infielder and squared up the ball consistently hard to left centerfield during a very good round.
Kendrick Calilao (2018 OF, Kissimmee, FL) has a simple and very direct right handed swing with very quick hands to the ball. He hits under control and makes very consistent hard line drive contact.
Triston Casas (2018 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL) has started to use some shift into his approach that wasn't evident this spring and it's going to help him boost his already very impressive left handed power.
Nander De Sedas (2018 SS, Montverde, FL) is a switch-hitter but he really stood out from the left side, with easy bat speed and plenty of strength at contact.
Raynel Delgado (2018 SS, Miami Lakes, FL) is a switch-hitter as well but his bat speed, while not up to De Sedas left handed bat speed, has equal and very good bat speed from both sides of the plate.

3-Gold vs. 4-Green Game 2
6/17/2017
Steve Hajjar (2018 LHP, North Andover, MA) showed a funky delivery and some nasty stuff on the mound. He has a long arm action with a high leg raise and is deceptive. The fastball worked from 88-92 mph, topping out at 93 mph, along with a solid slider.
Mason Denaburg (2018 C, Merritt Island, FL) was excellent during his time on the mound as he worked from 92-96 mph and touched 97 mph early on. Debnaburg lived in the lower third of the strike zone and the fastball had plus sink to it.
Elijah Cabell (2018 OF, Winter Park, FL) is one of the toolsiest players in the class and a day after chucking 94 mph from the outfield he is showing his prowess with the bat. Cabell got ahold of a middle-middle fastball and launched a double over the head of the centerfielder.
Dominic Pipkin (2018 RHP, Pinole, CA) pounded the lower third of the strike zone and worked with a fastball that had a bit of sink to it. Pipkin projects exceptionally well and worked the fastball from 88-92 mph, topping out at 93 mph, with a quality three-pitch mix.
Jack Carey (2018 RHP, Summit, NJ) worked up to 94 mph and had a long and loose arm action throughout. Carey showed three pitches for strikes and worked well at getting the fastball by hitters for swings and misses.
Carson Lambert (2018 RHP, Thousand Oaks, CA) was effective on the mound, primarily with his fastball that sat 89-91 mph and had occasional plane to it. Lambert has a very quick arm action and lands with a crossfire element on an open front toe. Good changeup at 84 mph that had late tumble.
Nick Decker (2018 OF, Southampton, NJ) laced a couple of hard hit balls during the game including a laced single up the middle that was very loud off the bat.
Anthony Seigler (2018 C, Cartersville, GA) had a quality approach at the plate with some solid bat-to-ball skills that were on display. He had one hit during the game that went up the middle and he also laced a couple of balls later on in the game.
Jack Filby (2018 3B, Sacramento, CA) showed strong pitch recognition at the plate and the willingness to go to the opposite field. He collected two hits, one line drive, and both were struck to left field. He also made a couple of sure-handed plays in the field.
3-Gold vs. 4-Green Game 1
6/17/2017
Mason Pelio (2018 RHP, San Diego, CA) has a strong three pitch mix and a very physical, durable frame on the mound. The fastball worked well from 89-91 mph and he threw both a short, tight cueveball with 12/6 shape and mixed in a hard changeup.
Gustaf Radel (2018 RHP, Sioux Falls, SD) worked with an explosive fastball and used a strong combination of fastball-curveball. He coils inward with a funky delivery and a very long arm action. The fastball worked 88-91 and the curveball was located well to the arm side.
Nick Nastrini (2018 RHP, San Diego, CA) worked two quick innings for the Green team and showed a three-pitch mix, Nastrini got downhill and to both sides of the plate. The fastball sat 88-91 mph and he showed an occasionally tight curveball with a changeup as well.
Lineras Torres Jr (2018 RHP, Beacon, NY) has a very easy effort level on his delivery that saw him work 92-94 mph. Torres Jr. showed a strong four pitch mix that included a short cutter at 88 and a tight spinning breaking ball with short action.
Preston Hartsell (2018 OF, Newport Coast, CA) carried his strong BP into the game with solid bat-to-ball and contact skills. Hartsell finished the day with two singles.
Alek Thomas (2018 OF, Chicago, IL) made a diving grab in left field to start the game out that highlighted his athleticism. Thomas also found consistent barrel as he drove a couple of long fly balls despite none of them landing for hits.
Andrew Benefield (2018 SS, Murfreesboro, TN) had sound defensive actions as he made a number of plays during the game. He remained balanced while on the run and showcased the arm strength today. He also took an 89 mph fastball and knocked it hard up the middle.
1-Navy vs. 2-Royal
6/17/2017
Luke Bartnicki (2018 LHP, Marietta, GA) was electric to open the morning and sat 92-94 mph throughout his time on the mound. He has a long arm action through the back and showed excellent command of the fastball to both sides. The slider was a deadly pitch as it showed late bite, especially to samehanded hitters.
Brandon Neeck (2018 LHP, Chappaqua, NY) also pitched well as he used his three pitches to mess with hitter's timing. The arm stroke was very loose and the fastball sat 90-92 mph while topping out at 93 mph. The slider showed tilt and the changeup was hard at 85 mph and flashed.
Connor Shamblin (2018 RHP, Lakeland, TN) is an athletic pitcher and showed a solid frame with a fastball that worked in the low-90s. He mixed his secondaries well and was able t keep the ball down often.
Hunter Watson (2018 3B, Pottsboro, TX) laced a hard hit double to the pull side as his quick hands exploded to drive a 92 mph pitch. Watson is an excellent athlete and features a quick bat.
Ty Madden (2018 RHP, Cypress, TX) worked in the low-90s while touching 93 mph on occasion. He mixed three pitches and threw from a high three-quarter arm slot; what stood out most was his excellent changeup which had replicated arm speed and showed tumble.
Jordan Groshans (2018 SS, Magnolia, TX) has shown excellent raw power throughout PG National and crushed a double off the monster in left field. The Kansas commit showed a three pitch mix on the mound and topped out at 88 mph.
Austin Elliott (2018 RHP, Milton, DE) has very quick hands at the plate and launched a double off the very top of the monster. The North Carolina commit got the back quickly through the zone and drove in two runs with the towering shot.
Brandon Birdsell (2018 RHP, Willis, TX) came out firing with a 89-93 mph fastball and mixed in a quality slider. Birdsell's fastball is mostly true in life and threw from a shorter arm action. The slider showed late tilt and bite and was effective at getting swings and misses when low in the dirt.
Keyshawn Askew (2018 LHP, Powder Springs, GA) was very deceptive on the mound with an extremely loose arm and a lower three-quarter arm slot. Askew mixed his pitches very well with a fastball up to 90 mph and a changeup that showed good fade to the arm side.
Brandon Davis-Micheu (2018 SS, Chalmette, LA) was very impressive at shortstop. Davis-Micheu showed excellent lateral agility with the ability to remain balanced and show off solid footwork to be able to range to both sides effectively.

Batting Practice Highlights: Gold and Green
6/16/2017
Cade Brown (2018 1B, Cardiff, CA) has a very short swing for a 6-5/220 athlete but with the strength to drive the ball to all fields. He opened up his swing the last couple to show his raw power as well.
Elijah Cabell (2018 OF, Winter Park, FL) has a low effort well timed swing with outstanding raw bat speed. He doesn't have to sell out his swing to drive the ball with authority to the mid field and pull side.
Preston Hartsell (2018 OF, Newport Coast, CA) was timed up from the first pitch and really showed his bat speed and a consistent left handed swing with plenty of lift. He opened eyes with one long blast into the back of the right centerfield bullpen.
Gunnar Hoglund (2018 RHP, Hudson, FL) is a primary pitcher but he was another left handed hitter who was timed up from the first pitch and showed bat speed and solid line drive pull contact.
Alek Thomas (2018 OF, Chicago, IL) is a tightly wound and explosive 5-10/175 athlete with a coiled left handed swing and lots of raw bat speed. He's not an undersized singles hitter by any means; he'll have plus power at the next level.
Austin Wells (2018 C, Henderson, NV) has a smooth and easy left handed swing with lots of loose extension out front and plenty of present bat speed.
Nick Decker (2018 OF, Southampton, NJ) has a definite pull and lift approach at the plate but definitely the bat speed and pop in his barrel to pull it off. He attacks the ball with plenty of intent.
Brandon Dieter (2018 SS, Covina, CA) has a very short and quick right handed swing that produces surprising pull power. He really crushed the ball when he was hitting the ball out front and aggressively.
Ryan Holgate (2018 OF, Davis, CA) has lots of upper body rotation in his swing but he uses it effectively to generate lots of left handed bat speed and occasional lift.
Osiris Johnson (2018 SS, Alameda, CA) has a young body that hasn't begun to get strong yet and a young swing at times but he flashes big bat speed and carry when everything comes together on a swing. He's definitely one to watch closely as he gets stronger.
Aaron Sabato (2018 SS, Rye Brook, NY) has a big and mature build and a huge lift and pull approach but he can hit a ball as far as a 17 year old is likely to hit it when he gets into one, as happened on about three straight pitches late in his round.

1-Navy vs. 2-Royal
6/16/2017
Adam Kloffenstein (2018 RHP, Magnolia, TX) showed an advanced repertoire and pitchability during his dominant two inning stint. He worked a fastball that was consistently 90-93 to go along with a tight curveball, slider that showed above average, and a hard changeup. The Texas Christian commit mixed speeds effectively and racked up a ton of swings and misses.
Trae Harmon (2018 1B, Somerset, KY) has a huge frame with tons of muscle and strength. The power is very easy and he absolutely smoked a ball down the left field line for a one-run double. The Kentucky commit showed feel for the barrel with very loud contact.
Cole Wilcox (2018 RHP, Chickamauga, GA) showed off his power fastball during his outing. Wilcox has a fastball that explodes out of the hand at 92-94 mph while topping out at 95 mph. He used the pitch to attack hitters with and he would mix in a short slider as well.
Carson Crowe (2018 RHP, Tuscaloosa, AL) displayed quality speed and athleticism by hitting a triple into the left field corner. He kept his hands inside and was able to scoot around the bases very quickly.
Landon Marceaux (2018 RHP, Destrehan, LA) showed off a strong mix that included a fastball and changeup. The fastball worked 90-92 mph for the duration of the outing and he pounded the strike zone. The curveball was sharp with tight spin and had quality depth as well.
Josh Spiegel (2018 C, Jeannette, PA) was able to control the barrel well and knock the ball to the opposite field for a standup double. He also posted strong pop times in between innings behind the plate.
Davis Sharpe (2018 RHP, Dacula, GA) held his velocity well in the 88-90 mph range. He mixed in a breaking ball that he showed good confidence in and was able to generate swings and misses with the pitch.
Brandon Schrepf (2018 OF, Pensacola, FL) showed well in all facets of the game. He made a diving catch in centerfield early on in the game and later on he added a triple. The South Florida commit stayed back and drove the ball well to the opposite field gap.
Jeremiah Jackson (2018 SS, Mobile, AL) is very athletic and that worked well for him in the box. He stayed back on a breaking ball and drove it to left centerfield for a triple. The Mississippi State commit has impressive bat speed and can move around the bases well.
Tyler Ras (2018 OF, Middletown, NJ) is a lean and projectable arm. Ras has a very long arm action and throws from a higher three-quarter arm slot. He was consistently 91-93 and mixed three pitches effectively.
Batting Practice Highlights: Navy and Royal
6/16/2017
Jordan Groshans (2018 SS, Magnolia, TX) hits the ball out front with a loose and strong right handed swing that produces easy bat speed and lots of pull power. He has a simple hand and barrel path to the ball and it jumps hard.
Jeremiah Jackson (2018 SS, Mobile, AL) weighs only 165 pounds but he produces lots of right handed bat speed with a long and loose swing with excellent extension and separation through contact. He drove the ball gap to gap with authority and projects to keep improving as he gets stronger.
Cole Moore (2018 C, Georgetown, TX) has a strength over bat speed tool set at the plate but could well have been the strongest young athlete to hit for the first two teams. He got outstanding carry to all fields when he squared up the ball from a pretty short and direct left handed swing.
Kendall Logan Simmons (2018 SS, Macon, GA) was the bat speed equivalent of Moore's pure strength. His raw bat speed is outstanding, with extreme hand quickness and plenty of strength behind it. He gets lots of easy carry when he gets square with the ball.
Connor Scott (2018 OF, Tampa, FL) has always been compared to top Astros prospect Kyle Tucker and he's probably tired of it but there is no mistaking it. Even their swings, with loud barrels and lots of loose bat speed and raw power are similar.
Hunter Watson (2018 3B, Pottsboro, TX) hits from a very deep low hand load but has the hand quickness and bat speed not only to get away with it but to be one of the most impressive hitters in the class. He has a build that will draw lots of Corey Seager comps in the future.
Grant Lavigne (2018 1B, Bedford, NH) hit the Gold Standard in batting practice, which is to hit a first pitch home run, all the more impressive when it was over the 380 foot RF sign at Fenway South. He has prodigious left handed power and attacks the ball aggressively.
Sean Guilbe (2018 SS, Reading, PA) hits from all out attack mode as well with impressive right handed bat speed and lift in his swing. It will be interesting to see if his game approach matches his BP approach and if he can hit the ball as hard and often against live pitching.
Devin Warner (2018 SS, Euharlee, GA) has an identical approach from both sides, with a preload and completely still start but he has the strength and barrel speed to get away with it. A little bit of rhythm and shift would go a long way with him.
Ryan Bliss (2018 SS, Lagrange, GA) was the smallest player to hit on the first two teams at 5-8/160 but he also had one of the best swings and squared the ball up almost every swing with hard line drive contact.
