Batting Practice Highlights

12/30/2024

Ryan Semeleel showed some bat speed and stayed to the middle of the field, creating strong line drive contact to both gaps.

Landon Hawkins has really good hands and can work the barrel out with some real intent, living to the pull side and carrying some a good ways.

Maddux El-Hakam is strong and showed it in getting the barrel out on time and hammering some baseballs to the middle, including a liner up against the centerfield wall.

Evan Fernandez gets into his juice pretty easy, living out on the front side and staying pretty controlled in how he does it; went off the top of the monster in a deep part of left-center.

59-Gray vs 60-Green Game Highlights

12/30/2024

Alex Pantoja (2025 LHP, Oviedo, FL)- Led the game off with a well struck single past an outstretched second basemen, then promptly stole both 2nd and 3rd on the subsequent pitches. Good overall athlete with an athletic frame, good actions across the board and impressed on the mound yesterday.

Brayden Johnson (2025 OF, Flowood, MS) answered back for his club with an RBI single snuck past a diving second baseman. Worked a count and had some solid takes, got rewarded for a solid at-bat. Got on the mound and worked up to 80-mph as well with good movement on the low 70's slider and feel to work his heater to both sides of the plate.

Dwight O'Neal (2025 OF, FL) ripped a single over the 6-hole to kick off the 2nd and stole both second and third. Athletic frame and look, can run with some first step quickness.

Gamaliel Rosario (2025 3B, Peabody, MA)- Cleared the bases with a chopper 2B placed well over the third base bag.

Beau Collier (2025 RHP, Labelle, FL) connected on a shot that one hopped the base of the fence in right field for an RBI double. Strong hands and can generate force/impact, nice piece that left the barrel hot and had some carry.

Micah Ott (2025 3B, Melbourne, FL) worked up to 86-mph with arm side life, dotting the edges nicely and working a tight slider in the mid 70's off of it well. Flashed a developing change as well, nice mix with control and feel on the mound.

Alfred Leatherwood Iv (2025 1B, Pensacola, FL)- Strong, physical presence in the box and it translates off the barrel as he sent a deep double to straight away center in an advantage count.

Landon Hawkins (2025 3B, Sumrall, MS) smoked a double to the right center gap on a middle/middle slide piece, best barrel of the game off a quality arm too. Athletic and lean frame with physical projection.

Alec Brown (2025 OF, Mooresville, NC)- Up to 77-mph with the fastball and working it all over the plate, pairs it nicely with a 2300 RPM curveball with depth and shape in the mid 60's for strikes.

Maddux El-Hakam (2025 OF, Bellaire, TX)- Strong and athletic build, ran it up to 81-mph and sat 78-80 with a low 70's slider mixed in during advantage counts.

Nicolas Carrillo (2025 3B, Miami, FL)- Slow paced and repeatable delivery, up to 81-mph and sitting upper 70's with a solid breaking ball and a change up to round off the mix.

59- Gray v. 60- Green Game Highlights

12/29/2024

59- Gray v. 60- Green

Alex Pantoja (2025, Oviedo, Fla.) added a base knock as he stayed on time and through one, working back up the middle. He found room in centerfield after skipping one off the bag into the outfield grass. Added another hit later on, dropping one into left-center for a double. Also worked up to 88 mph on the fastball & showed a low-70s changeup and upper-60s breaking ball to round out a quality three-pitch mix. He missed bats and punched out 5 opposing hitters over 3.0 no-hit innings.

Aidan McGovern (2025, Ill.) worked the mid-70s on the fastball with a good feel to command the zone. Showed a big breaker with 11-5 depth to it, landing it for strikes. He struck out 5 opposing hitters over 3.0 scoreless innings of work, out on the mound for the Green squad. He added a hit later on, too, driving one up the middle into centerfield for a single.

Rylan Semeleer (FA, Oranjestad, ABW) added a base knock working backside as he found the barrel and was able to shoot one the other way into right field. He connected and drove it backside into right field. Looked solid during the workout portion of the event as well.

Maddux El-Hakam (2025, Bellaire, Texas) hammered one working pull-side, hustling out a base knock and moving up the runners to first base. He’s a physical righty with good strength in the swing, finding the barrel out in front.

J.R. Clark (2025, Sanford, Fla.) got the barrel on one and sent it hard on a line into right field. He lined it into the gap, working the other way and staying on a pitch to pick up a barrel for his team.

Alfred Leatherwood IV (2025, Pensacola, Fla.) added a base knock as he found room working pull-side into left field. He connected with one out in front and drove it backside through the 6-hole to pick up a single for his squad.

Alec Brown (2025, Mooresville, N.C. ) drove one hard the other way into right field for a base knock. He found an opening through the 4-hole. He stayed on it and delivered the hands on time to do damage for a base knock.

Dalton Todd (2025, Sebring, Fla.) added a base knock as he shot one the other way into right field. He connected and drove one well, staying on line and matching planes with a pitch to hammer it backside into right field for the hard-hit single.

Beau Collier (2025, Labella, Fla.) came out and worked 82-85 mph on the fastball, reaching back to grab 86 mph as well. He showed feel for the breaker as well, working the mid-70s on the pitch & finding ways to attack hitters and miss bats. He threw 2 and ⅔ innings, punching out 4 opposing hitters without allowing a hit.

Stan Paszek (2025, Land O Lakes, Fla.) worked up to 88 mph on the fastball while holding the mid- to upper-80s. He had good arm-side life to the pitch and also flashed a slider and changeup to boot. He performed well on the mound and punched out 4 hitters over 2.0 innings, navigating around a couple of hits from the opposition.

Landon Hawkins (2025, Sumrall, Miss.) put together a solid outing in relief for his team. He worked up to 89 mph on the fastball, dropping in a 12-6 hammer breaking ball in the low-70s, with a changeup to round out the mix. He struck out the side in his first inning and put up a scoreless inning in the second, navigating around a hit to close out the win.
